Al Porter has the most annoying, nasely voice

I will not be tuning in.

ha has anything but a voice for radio, high pitched, nasaly and very irritating camp meets tallaght accent

Anyone know what this mornings Kickstart song was?

I caught Muireanns show on saturday night, it was quite good and enjoyable to listen to, i caught will leahy on 2fm last night, great show, hes a great presenter.

I glanced through an article on Porter in the Indo on Saturday, it said that 2fm couldnt afford Porter????? wtf, how much are todayfm paying this guy? he pretty much admitted in the article it was only a stepping stone for him to bigger things....so, why the eff are todayfm shelling out big bucks to a guy who is only using them to get something better whilst at the same time alienating their listenership?
The article stated that todayfm have leaked thousands of listeners...looks like todayfm is a ship taking on water...

    Ugh. Just ugh.

Can anyone explain the point of having the R in Dermot and Dave reversed?

Listened to today fm all day for years...But no longer. Amazing how poor mid morning radio is across all the stations, you'd think one of these radio genius' would see there's a gap in the schedule for intelligent chat mixed with decent music. I've tried 2fm but can't seem to stand to listen for the full week. I used to think having a radio on in work was a bonus. Think it's making my day a lot longer now!!!

Damn, I was just thinking that.

I had BBC r6 lined up via Bluetooth in the car when I started listening to him. 3/4 hr later, I found myself at home and hadn't moved from today fm at any point.

Ed is doing himself no favours on D'Arcys show, he comes across as just as much of a tool and as if he actually enjoys being a tool.
He also took D'Arcys part on Twitter when I was basically telling him that his Grand National quiz was a complete Rip off of KC's instagrand.

I can safely say I haven't listened to more than 5 mins of Darcy's show.

5 mins was all I required.

Quite a damning testament, especially when you consider that I gave Al porter nearly 15minutes before I turned off.

Yeah, I tried using the Listen Back yesterday and while it played alright there didn't seem to be an option to jump forward on the audio (on mobile).

    WACKY! KRAY-ZEE! TRI-HARD!

I'm not a designer but has anyone noticed how they've messed up the logo? The rays of the sunshine used to emanate from the o of Today FM as if it was a sun, which makes some sense. But now it's in the middle and from nowhere. I'm being picky but it looks naff.

Call me cynical, but it looks to me like a rebrand for the sake of a rebrand so nobody pays any attention to how bad the station actually sounds.

The photos on the new website look so dumb, what's with Phil Cawley and the 1982 boombox ? I thought they were trying to get rid of any retro image? After all they have axed all oldies shows in recent times, Friday Night 80s, 90s and classic Gold Sunday.

After 15 years I have finally stopped listening to Today FM .Its the end of an era .KC on Red FM is better than Dempsey .Ive turned to Ryan Tubriddy and then Pat Kenney for mornings. Then George and Sean till 4 .I never thought I would tune out of Today FM. Even their app has been deleted from my phone. Regrettable but inevitable

I'm the same.... :( Been listening to TodayFM for over 10 years at this stage i'd say, but now Ian gets 20 mins airing in the morn & that's it... Sad. :(

Today FM has become Yesterday FM for me. It's car crash radio now.

Except for Dermot and Dave (and occasionally Matt Cooper) I've actually switched to 2FM between 7 and 7...says it all really.

So it's going wrong but who is the worst of them that drags it down

After a brief switch to 4fm in work, it seems that Niall Boylan is less tolerable to my colleagues than Al Porter, seeing as Today FM was put back on this afternoon.

What the f*** have Today FM done to their playlist...might aswell be listening to bloody Spin!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 995 ✭✭✭mikep

I mentioned way back in this thread that it seems the changes in Today FM are to focus on inane chat and predictable repetitive music presented by anyone as the presenter makes no difference. Way to go!! It's background noise for me at work but silence is becoming more and more attractive

    +1

I sorted the Al Porter problem this morning, downloaded a Linkin Park album and had something interesting to listen to!

Between 12-4.30 its unlistenable to me, and Matt is slowly going down that way
