Quick, folks, I need your help......

Down in Hatch & Sons right now beside Stephen's Green and the waitress just came out and put a bread board and a frying pan full of food down on my table, and then walked off.

Thinking maybe she's had a bit of a breakdown and I don't want to complain about her and make things worse.

Is there somewhere close by perhaps that I could nip out to, buy a plate and saucer, pop back, and just act like nothing happened?

Butter, and the eggs were awful as the pan was scorching hot and so they naturally continued to cook and so were hard and crispy by the time I came back from Marks & Spencers.

What a pretentious way to serve food and the price was insane too. I went there as as a bunch of sites online had given it rave reviews.

Kilkenny Cafe still the best breakfast in Dublin for me and it was half the price.

    Course I was joking :P

Wasn't the only pretentious way I was served food of late though, as a few weeks back in the Angler's Rest we were served Apple Crumble in jars.

You could barely at the damn thing.

They've been doing that for years!! I took my great aunt they for her 90th birthday 5 years ago and she had great difficulty with those stupid jars for dessert.

Presenting food is very important. But its going beyond stupid in a lot of places. A fry up in a frying pan. FFS! It'll be a curry in a wok next.

I was given similar in a restaurant once. I asked for it to be put on a plate and it duly arrived presented as a dinner should be.

I'm about to cook up much the same for myself here but I'll dispense it on to a plate.
