Before anyone says "where's the BA"

In case anyone is ordering from the UK to Parcel Motel.
Their system is down since Wednesday.
A guy in Nightline Is answering calls and passing on a message.
They have no phone lines and presumably no computer system.

Ive a parcel in transit since Monday.

Avoid at all costs at this stage. I assume they'll have to catch up when things are running again.

There systems aren't down. I've had three parcels arrive in the locker today and received the notification text and email.

However they are majorly backlogged with all the Black Friday orders and it seems to be taken at least a week for packages to turn up in lockers.

I just got email about a parcel few minutes ago.

I had a package shipped from UK on Wednesday, just got notification it's in Dublin Depot now so if that's an indication of how the system is functioning at the moment, it seems ok.

Been receiving notifications as usual for sent and receiving parcels. There's a delay but I don't think they're down.

They're not down, worked perfectly for me.

I can also confirm it's not down, my GF has received 2 parcels in the past few days (including one this evening).

However at our location there has been fairly significant delays for about 2 weeks presumably because the locker is full and they can't distribute parcels immediately after they receive them at their facilities (I assume a combined effect of the low sterling and Christmas shopping).

Ordered from Amazon expected in PM on November 30th.. have heard nothing from PM.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,263 ✭✭✭robyntmorton

I collected 2 on Wednesday, including one that was misplaced for 4 days. I wouldn't want to be working the Newtonabbey depot at the moment - it must be bedlam.

That said, getting info from them has been a pain in the ass.

Waiting for items from Reebok. (Cheaper to order in Sterling for delivery through PM). Was wondering why there were no updates in last few days though DHL is delivering it to them and they've not updated their side either.

Lots of issues reported over in PM thread on Online Buying & Auctions.
Basically loads of people missing parcels for over a week (10+ days myself). No answers from PM via email or phone.
Their phone system was down yesterday unless that's what you heard reported.

As I said I'm my OP , phone lines are down. I was told by a Nightline employee whem I phoned.
Assumed systems were also down due to no phone lines.

Got an email today confirming an arrival. No idea when it'll actually arrive to a locker. We must be due the big PM bus soon!

Weird, all that happened with my deliveries this week is that they auto-redirected from an overloaded depot (Raheny) to a less used one (Artane)... maybe mine went through before the Black Friday rush.

3 packages arrived for me today with no issues.

I had a Package delivered to Newtownabbey by DHL on Wednesday, and haven't heard anything since. Kind of relived to hear it's just a backlog. You would usually have it the same day or early next morning.

    That makes no sense.

It's like answering the front door and telling the person that no one is in.

More than likely is, but personally can't see the harm in this thread been placed here. Alot of BA people like myself use PM alot so this information is important.

Anyway, my input is this and I can't understand it, when theres a backlog with PM. Why oh why oh why, do they insist on using three/four/five lockers for the same PM number/person, I couldn't give a crap if they put all my stuff in one locker once it fits and nothing is damaged, if it means things speed up and other can get there deliveries. I assume there is a good reason!

Because then you'll have people asking why they are paying €3.95 per item when 3 items can fit into one locker and it should only cost €1.30 per item and and and..

How is this important? If you used parcel motel for a few years this is what happens every year. If you use parcel motel site that much you should know this happens every year

Parcel arrived up North on Tuesday morning. Was in the locker waiting for me on Wednesday night.

PM appears to be working just fine...

You could be right , I have tried ringing them a few times in the past few days no reply.
I am expecting compensation for a lost package (€91) since 11/11.
Saga in progress since 29/10. Several phone calls and emails but, still no Payment which was promised within 7 working days .

I have now written (snail mail) to the accounts dept.
Possible next move -small claims court.

I'll tell you exactly how. People can first tell if there's a backlog, what motels dont have a backlog near them and then switch over to them if needed. Also helps highly any poor service people may be getting and hopefully they fix it it up!

You do know. If you don't like a thread you can ignore it. No one forces anyone to read threads or post on them. It's that simple. If you know all you need to, then don't read the thread.

Thread title seems completely misleading, all things considered.

True and the location isn't great either. All things considered, it's people giving out and shooting threads down that's slowly turning me off boards and away from posting. That and the over moderation, highly off-putting to be honest. But that's for another day.

There's no need for people to be so anal about every detail on a thread or post. Take a chill pill and enjoy the site.

Very misleading title. Their systems are obviously not down. Item I ordered from Amazon arrived on schedule and I just received the Parcel Motel email this evening. This thread really does not belong here and should be closed at this stage.

Just got a text to say my parcel has been delivered......to the wrong PM location!!

I'm in Topaz Cabra and it went to Tesco Navan Rd.

So a nice job, 5 days and they still couldnt get it right.

They are auto redirecting to the nearest free locker... same thing happened to me. Deliberate tactic at the moment.
Could be quite awkward for some people.

I'm in Sligo and they can f*ck right off I'm in driving to my nearest one in Carrick-On-Shannon.. they can refund my €3.95 + petrol cost.

Lets hope they keep the redirects to same postcode... even so, would take a while to cover dublin 5 on foot.

I've a package supposed to be delivered from Apple UK to PM. Apple site is saying delivered but PM not showing it. Basically, I shouldn't panic so, it'll show up yet?

    I've 23 days leeway I suppose, what's the rush.

They're only 2 minutes away from each other, Cabra might be full and the guy is doing you a favour rather than bring it back with him and you having to wait longer?

I'm not paying for it to be delivered to another location.

I've edited the title as the system doesn't appear to be down, but rather that they are just having problems at the moment which is to be expected at this time of year. Was in two minds about leaving this thread here as it's probably better suited to a different forum, but will leave it here for the moment and we'll see how it goes...

I sent a parcel Sunday evening from Cork, to go to another PM customer in Carlow and it seems to have been sat in Dublin the last few days. Emailed a couple of days ago and no response. Didn't occur to me that Black Friday would be an issue. Could well be one of those things that won't be repeated. Not sure I'd chance sending another parcel with them, though. Almost a full week is a bit rubbish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,264 ✭✭✭deiseindublin

Yeah, not ideal but I'd prefer to drive for a few mins than be wondering where my parcel is. In fairness, PM lockers can be accessed 24/7 so without traffic they're very near each other.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20 vaporwave

Everyone can appreciate and understand delays this time of year. It's normal and to be expected.
However it's their complete silence in responding to support tickets/emails/calls that is unacceptable, and causing people stress.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,268 ✭✭✭✭uck51js9zml2yt

Interesting how PArcel Wizard is able to handle balck friday. Granted, its easier to get extra vans than extra boxes.
thankfully most of my deliveries are either PW or AnPost from the UK

Expect a few days delay between it checking in their depot in north... then down to dublin and wait to be sorted in dublin by destination locker.

In early days of PM they would notify you when delivered to newtonabbey... now the notification only happens at this end.

I got an order delivered last Sunday at 12.55pm so they are now working around the clock I'd say to catch up. Yours could still arrive at the weekend.

I also got a parcel today so no problems with PM for me. Great service as usual.

I'm waiting since 24th November for a Parcel, went AWOL and I had to ring them about it, got an email that it was checked info Dublin earlier but they are out the door and it may take 2 days to get to my PM....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,296 ✭✭✭FortySeven

Just to give an idea of what is going on. I'm currently doing some temp work in a Hermes depot in Scotland. They usually have 2 staff sorting the packets. There are over 50 now. All are temps, all are new to it. Most are not the brightest. I'm sure some are thieves.

I'm sorting the returns. Today I filled 3 cages of packages that had been sorted onto the wrong routes, about 800+ packages. They normally have about 30.

It is 24/7 non stop stress and fast flowing work. The phones never stop ringing with irate customers which just means management is off the line where they are needed.

Minimum wage is paid for 12 hour shifts and everyone is tired.

Just one depot. Tis that time of year!

Edit. Oh, and their pulse system can't keep up. The wait for redirect labels is 3 hours from request.

I think that's exactly it, PM don't have enough boxes for the festive season, but if they were to get lots of extra ones they wouldn't be as cost-effective the rest of the year.
