€2.00 for a machine to rub the grit and dirt all around your car and create micromarring. No thanks.

Wash it yourself and avoid damage to your car.

This offer is obviously for those who pay a tenner for a machine to rub the grit and dirt all around your car and create micromarring.

I watched a 5th gear video on YouTube and they tested all the ways to wash your car. And the machine car wash damaged the paint work the least.

I can't say I have had any issues with machines. I usually get a machine wash to do the heavy lifting then handwash it fairly nifty and give it a polish.

I'll pop down my topaz and grab a ticket for a wash ! Thanks OP

Don't ever use a sponge or let those side street washers near your car. You know the wiper blade water hand held clearer's do some of the worst damage.

Car was at least sprays some suds or at the least water.

To be fair, their comparison didn't include proper handwash with your own equipment. So from the bad options, machine car was is the best :D

    Machines best way to go.

Avoid those lads with the power hoses and paint strippers.

I don't see the thing about the 5 days.

It says "1. The Car Wash promotion will run for one day only on the 25th November 2016. Please note Car Wash opening times vary by location. " here : https://www.topaz.ie/service-station/topaz-service-station/car_wash_pass_terms.aspx
Am I missing something (wouldn't be the first time !) ?

It tends to be that the code ticket generated in the station when you pay has a validity date on it, usually 5 days from date of purchase.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,157 ✭✭✭loki7777

Code is always valid for 5 days:)

Just bought a ticket there in the local garage.

Can confirm it says under the code that the ticket is valid for 5 days.

I just got the platinum wash in Topaz Cabinteely for €2. (Usually €12)

Car wash docket valid until 25/12/2016 so I invested in a few.

Oh I thought it was today only, nice one.

It is only one day to buy it for €2 but you dont have to use it today (valid 5 days). Great deal if you use that kind of wash (maybe valid also for jet wash not sure about it).

Can I buy in one site and then use at another?

I verify what turniphead has said. I have a ticket bought today, valid to 25/12/2016. Will be going back later for another 1/2.

Queues were about 30 minutes though. I didn't stay.

My ticket says valid for 7 days

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,045 ✭✭✭Guffy

Some sites are 7 days, some 5. There are queues to be expected at all sites so personally i would buy today, use tomorrow. It is not valid on jet wash as far as i know

Just checked, if your brave enough to wash the car yourself in this cold, the 2 euro wash also applies to the jet wash.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,354 ✭✭✭coldfire1x

Got one and it's valid for 10 days. There was a queue so the guy at the counter said you can come anytime within 10 days. No point waiting today.

Do you buy the voucher in store or at the wash?

    You buy it in store.

No I don't imagine so. The carwashes would need to be linked up to a central database of Topaz car washes. No harm to try it at another one, if it doesn't work you can just drive away!

It doesn't. The tickets are site specific

What's the platinum wash? Is it the same as top wash which is €12?
