Ah; Jeez. Joe can't help himself - hot on the heels of the Cork drowning tragedy, he's all over the L -drivers thing.
FFS, would it have been too much of a wait to give it a week or a month until there's less of a wound in that family?

    This should be good.

Duffy was encouraging the lady whose son removed his L plates a few weeks ago.

And that lad in Australia a while ago was harshly treated, him with only a handful of motoring offences.

Sure, it was just a bit of drink-driving.

Decent cameras are available from many places including Halfords for well under €200 including fitting. No excuses anymore.

I've gone one on each of the cars, cousin has one as well, saved him a €38,000 payout on his insurance which would have cost him about €6000 over 5 years of increased payments.

Of course the problem is that the thieving cheating prlck who tried to shaft him got off free.

i bought one for about 60 or 70 off amazon with a 32gb sd card, that records over old footage when full. decent picture off it. Could have done a better more permanent job putting it in, but simple to setup temporally

The husband/father of the victims made a great suggestion. Make it an offence to allow your car to be driven by an unaccompanied L driver.

I'd say the family want it highlighted. The poor father/husband was saying that the car owner should face prosecution if they give a L driver their car.

I didn't think so at all. Once a child has reached 18 the parents are no longer responsible for them in the legal sense. What if someone with a full licence, aged 40, gets drunk and kills someone in their parents car, should the parent be responsible for that too?

plenty of accidents caused by people with diminished reactions, but Joe will not dare go after anyone over retirement age would he ...

Not surprised, as it's a hot local story, in its sheer unexpected tragedy.
Otoh, the like of Joe using it as a springboard for some sort of campaign that he's probably going to develop is a bit much at this stage.

Like in the UK, If you let someone drive your car without insurance you are committing the offence with them unless you claim they hare driving without your permission(they get charged with stealing the car).
