Just look at my first post, £30 pound to ship 1 kg of citric acid to ireland. Surely we should get knock on benefits with northern ireland being part of the united kingdom
Your complaint should really be with royal mail & couriers. Though some sellers might slap on extra too.

Some sellers will be using couriers who can charge a fortune for a blanket "outside europe" "outside mainland UK", it could be £30 to australia or here. Some may up the price to cover potential scammers, figuring they could deal with internal UK scammers easier.

Where I work we supply a massive international company with machines, I know they make a loss sending the to NI due to courier costs, but still offer it at the same price as they do not want to be seen as penalizing some parts of the UK.

I am surprised Royal mail have not found a way to blacklist parcel motel and parcel wizard. Maybe they are making some money off them though, but if the did not exist a % of those packages going through to PM via royal mail would have gone through normal royal mail at much higher prices.

Citric acid can be got cheaply in asian supermarkets by the way. Some might have bigger catering size bags out back for cheaper. Some chemists will order it in special too, their 100g tubs might cost a fortune but 1kg might be OK. Homebrew shops also stock it in large sizes.

Have two addresses One in Ireland and one in THe Netherlands
if I will buy something and the site says does not ship to Ireland then I try it again on the dutch address and then they do ship to the Netherlands
    Whats the difference ????????
In mine opinion its discrimination from them

Difference is Holland is probably overland from the warehouse. Shipping products by air is restricted, which they may have to use to ship to Ireland.

    Its not perfect of course...

Parcel motel do handle oversize items. I got a printer shipped fro free to Belfast, and PM charged 10.50 for me to collect it at a nightline depot.

It was a couple of years ago, so the cost may have changed, but seemed like good value to me at the time...

I have had some fairly large boxes delivered by parcel Wizard lately and have never been charged more than standard delivery, which I think is 3.85. Out of my last 4 deliveries the smallest one was a Phillips air fryer

I don't mind the fact that a lot of amazon sellers don't ship to Ireland, I'm sure they have their reasons and that's not amazon's fault. I do mind however that I have to click into each listing to find out if I can buy it or not. I think there should be a checkbox you can tick to only show items that can be shipped to Ireland, would make it so much more user friendly.

On the phone, so don't have a link, but there is a Chrome plugin that can auto hide listings that don't ship here.

    Would this be it?

    Thanks that's handy.

I see Ireland is 3rd on the list for being more likely to be refused delivery and pay extra for online purchases.
    http://www.irishtimes.com/news/consumer/irish-shoppers-more-likely-to-be-refused-delivery-and-pay-extra-for-online-purchases-1.2904823

Some price gaps are justified, however where additional costs are incurred because of distance, or due to market conditions, pricing by competitors, or extra risk linked to rules differing in member states.

However, the report notes, “the lack of clarity as to what constitutes a direct justification by objective criteria . . .gives rise to arbitrary justifications”.

I'm getting on ok with ParcelMotel
