Werewolf Five - Election Fever - LOL 'Murica
Welcome to the 5th edition of Werewolf.

The village of Washington has been engulfed by a vicious pack of werewolves who wander unnoticed through the village during daylight hours, but once nightfall hits, they turn into 4 legged freaks, thirsty for the blood of the hapless villagers. They are led by the obnoxious Donald Trump.

All had been pretty crazy on the run up to the election. But no one knew exactly what had been going on till the body of Barack Obama was found behind the local brothel with his entrails hanging from his body and a huge slash right down from his neck to his belly button. Flies were buzzing around the corpse.

The village was in shock, such a nice guy they stated! This was not done by any human attack and after paw prints in blood were spotted on the ground people came to realise that something sinister was walking the streets at night.

Among the 22 village people, are 5 fully blown werewolves

The full roles of the village are -

    1 x Seer
    1 x Hilary Clinton
    1 x Chuck Norris
    1 x Lee Harvey Oswald
    13 x Villagers

    1 x Donald Trump
    4 x Werewolves

1 x Seer - The seer is the leader of the village. They have the ability to peek one player every night, and they will be told the role of the peeked player.

1 x Lee Harvey Oswald - Lee Harvey Oswald/Vigilante gets 2 bullets. Their task is to take out Donald Trump, they may choose at whatever time they wish their victim to die - it does not have to be during the nighttime phase. The Vigilante may not disclose their identity on thread before he successfully kills Trump. If the Vigilante shoots twice and misses Trump both times their identity will be revealed putting them in jeopardy.

1 x Hillary Clinton - Hillary is working on her own. But she is part of the village team. She will get one peek in the hope of finding an ally in the village. Donald is after her blood and she must try to stay alive and work out his identity and get him lynched or shot. If she achieves this she will be elected as Mayor for the rest of the game. The Mayor gets 2 votes per turn once elected.

1 x Chuck Norris - Chuck is the bodyguard and they get to protect a player each turn from munching by the werewolf team. He can chose to protect anyone and can also protect themselves. He can only protect the same person every other night and can not protect consecutively.

1 x Donald Trump - Donald is the leader of the werewolf pack. He initially has no special abilities, but he has the ability to earn 3 peeks over the course of the game (max of 1 per turn). He will be given a task for each peek, and if he completes it on thread, then he will receive a daytime peek. Only Donald will know what his task is, but he may discuss it with his team. He can of course choose not to accept the challenge, for fear of giving away any info.

13 x Villagers - Your bog standard, run of the mill villagers who will try their best to lynch members of the werewolf team while trying to stay out of the firing line themselves.

4 x Werewolves - The werewolves masquerade as villagers during the day, but they munch during the night. If their numbers equal or outnumber that of the village team, they win the game.

There will be some twists tied into the number 5 in the game

Daytime will run from 9am-8.59pm and end with a lynch. All lynch votes have to be received by 8.59pm to be valid.
Nighttime will run from 9pm-8.59am and end with a munch. All kills requests/peeks requests etc must be in by 8.59am to be valid.
The roles of the dead will be announced after the lynch and in the morning announcement.
PMs are strictly prohibited and anyone found to be using PMs will be modkilled.
Any discussion of this game outside of the werewolf thread (e.g the AH, FB) may also result in a modkill.
Once killed, please refrain from posting in the thread, and you may intentionally or unintentionally give away information. Do not thank posts once you are dead.
Do NOT edit posts ever, even for grammar mistakes. Just post again if you forgot to add something..
    Do not delete posts either.
If someone fails to post or vote for 2 nights running, they may be modkilled unless they have a good reason.
Information regarding peeks will be given to players by backroom as soon as we possibly can. Once we're online, and we receive a message from a player with a special role, we'll relay the information to them.
In the event of a tie in the lynch voting, voting will reopen for another 30 minutes to see if a decision can be reached. If after 30 minutes there is still no outright winner, then the last vote received will be the tie breaker
    Be civil to one another.
Remember this is just a game and we Mods are just human and can make mistakes too. No need to berate us if something goes wrong

Cast your lynch vote using the form:

The OP is up to enable everyone to read and understand the game rules ahead of the game starting on Friday. NO POSTING in the thread until the game opens with a Mod announcement.

Game play will start on Friday with a soft opening with no lynch on Friday evening or a munch on Friday night/Saturday. The first Seer peek will be on Friday night after the close of 8.59PM

The first Lynch will be on Saturday night and the first munch after that through the night time phase.

May the odds always be in your favour

The sun rose just as normal in Washington, it was the day after the horrific murder of Barack Obama, a much loved President. Michelle was in bits, she begged for people to help avenge her beloved husbands untimely death.

After an emergency meeting at the White house there was a (very) hasty decision as to who was going to be the head of the next parties. It was decided that Hillary Clinton and the celebrity business man Donald Trump along with the quiet Bernie Saunders were going to run for President! There was much chat/shock/horror at the thoughts of this and the village was divided.

Bernie Saunders body was found behind the local casino. His wife said his body must have been dragged there as you shouldn't be gambling in Washington! His head had been almost ripped from his shoulders and his body sucked dry of blood. He was nothing but a shriveled up looking corpse.

The FBI brought in a task team. Chuck Norris was thought to protect the people, the thinking was that no one would dare mess with that M'fkr on the loose!

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump had been fitted with a disguise so that whoever was picking off the politicians would struggle to find them and hopefully once this nightmare was over things could return to normal.

An unknown Mystic was found who said they specialised in finding those who were infected by Lycanthropy. The gene that turned normal appearing villagers into blood sucking Werewolves at night.

There was also a rumour that some man had been given a special gun with 2 silver bullets, apparently he has a knack for shooting and it was hoped that he was able to catch those wolves in the act.

The full task team are listed below. The worry was, that some of the hairy ones were hiding amongst the good, so don't trust anyone, everyone is suspect.

I think we should lynch the first person who suggests building a wall.

I assume that the player who got Donald Trump has to act completely obnoxious and ridiculous AT ALL TIMES?

Compared to WW4 it's quite straight forward!

If we were basing it on the real election wouldnt we just lynch both candidates to win?

Fair point. But as per the election it look like we'll just have to tolerate Hillary - the lesser of two evils.

Hopefully the village will get a better result than the USA.

Morning all, actually think I have a better chance of understanding this game got a little lost in the end of the last one. Main thing at the moment is to keep an eye out for the tasks? I'd assume they'd start today for the next three day cycles.

Time to make this village great again! :pac:

I'm at the airport but I look forward to wasting time playing over the next few days! :) It starts with a munch tonight right?

No first lynch is tomorrow evening then the munch after.

Which actually I was just thinking about, considering we have a bit of a lead in till the first lynch can we all agree by the end of today the process we are going to follow for the lynch. Races etc but lets get it sorted and make sure we don't have the same unorganised starts of the others.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,750 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

this seems to be a nicely stripped back version, i like that.

Yeah I'm excited to play this now
Last few have been very complicated which hurts my brain.

Regarding voting for lynches etc. I will still maintain my position that the lynches should be free votes with reasonings posted here as block voting tells us nothing. It is too easy for the wolves to hide and break up their vote if we've got 2 villagers up to lynch. I will go with the village consensus however. But thats my 2 cents.

No matter what system we pick, the lynch will be still a random kill. The only thing we may have to go on is the Trump task.

17 Villagers and 5 republicans. As ever, the odds are in favour of loosing a villager at the first lynch.

Pick two/three lynch candidates (based on some sort of bizarre logic at this point in the game) and race them - who ever gets most votes is brown bread.

So there's no Lynch tonight and by the looks of it no slaughter in the morning. What info will we have to go on tomorrow night for the Lynch if there's no kill tomorrow?

As for the tasks, they mentioned the number 5 will hold relevance in the game so keep an eye on that and they could possibly be things like trumpisms like make America Greta again but unfortunately a few have already done that so impossible to spot now.

So that's two random enough lynches. If the first two lynched are villagers than it's 10-5 which will certainly favour Trump and his entourage.

Today is a soft opening to allow the newbies to the game to get a feel for it. Would have been crap if one of them died without getting to post/play properly. The werewolves will still be around tomorrow to kill tomorrow night.

Just enjoy some peaceful time getting to know each other.

Totally agree, we always start off arguing during the lynch how we should choose are lynch process

So we should discuss this now

    1. Lynch race - run 2/3 people for voting based on suspicions given by the other villagers - this is the most simple way of doing it, in past games it doesn't work at the start but provides data towards the end of the game this option is more for the long run without instant results

    2. Vote for who you think is a wolf without telling the village - leaves the Wolf's uncertain on how to approach lynching which could provide mistakes and tells, dangerous from a villagers point of view as the village could lynch a roled player on their team without given them the chance to convince the village of their innocence

    3. Each player interviews each other with a bunch of general questions or questioning posts they have made to find any tells or mistakes - could be hard to pull off with some players not being as active but could also lead to valuable information by getting information from posters that would not be there without this method

If anyone has any other ways to play the lynch let us know

True but at least we have a chance of getting a wolf this way. Rather than a guaranteed villager munch to open things up.

Make sure to put up different players also for races also. Jay was up every time against a random. Which didnt work out well. Make sure to involve the less active posters in the races also to get a feel for how they react. Basically, the opposite of game 2.
