I was wondering more what formats of radio the JNLR allows. As in, is it just FM? Do they cover TunedIn? Etc.

Because if TunedIn and similar apps arent included in the survey then it really isnt an accurate report of things.

They record any method of listening but stations not licenced for your area go in to "Other".

    Cheers! :)

Fair play to them. 50,000 at that time is some achievement. If I'm right in saying so, that's higher than the previous hosts ever had?

I'm personally not a fan, but credit where it's due. And fair play to their new producer JP too. :pac:

I think they cover all the bases - here's the question (one of many) they ask:

"When you were listening to .................. (mention station) yesterday, between .............. and ............... (mention time block in which listening occurred), which device did you use to listen?
on AM/FM radio - at home, in car or in any other place
    on PC/laptop
    on mobile device
    phone, tablet, iPod, MP3 player
    on TV set
    on digital (D.A.B) radio"

It's not only here, but in many other countries they are questioning the 'diary' style questioning about radio research and whether its the best way for the future. However, there are not many alternatives.

One of the things that made me switch from Samsung phones to HTCs is the fact that even the newest top of the range models from HTC have retained the FM radio.

That said, I tend to put on Spotify instead of radio unless I know one of an ever decreasing number of presenters is on. I'll listen to Anton if he's not doing his misery porn slot. Can't say I love it but I'll listen. I did enjoy the whole saga of getting the plane up the Shannon but there hasn't been much else memorable. I like Dermot and Dave. I won't listen to the rest of Today FM's line up for too long. Louise Duffy's new show is better than the afternoon show but I can't get my head around interspersing alternative and rock with Beyonce and the rest of that shoite.
