The general consensus is he won't be risked, but nothing definite

Now to figure out who to start: Son home to Leicester or Capoue home to Hull? It's a tough one

If you're willing to risk the Theo decision until the last minute, Arsenal twitter posted last week's lineup at 1359. https://twitter.com/afcamden also had Sanchez benched against Soton ahead of time but has been useless for early news since then

I'd start Son, further up the pitch and more shots over the last few GWs.

Yeah just saw Wenger comment "if it's not tomorrow it's OK for Tuesday" though since the RVP drama I'll never ever trust him again.

But Wenger showed this year he's able to rotate unfit players (we saw it with Sanchez) and Arsenal next game is Spurs. So, on paper, a 'Pool mid (or personally I'm tempted by a short-term punt on Mata) looks good.

Will he start though for sure? Jansen has not impressed at all

Walcott won't be playing lads, Wenger won't be risking him with his injury record.

Had originally planned on axing Valencia and Payet, but now that Walcott is flagged looking at taking a possible -4.... looking at either

    A) Pieters/Ozil/Coutinho
    B) Pieters/Sanchez/Mata(?)
    C) Any number of uninspiring mid-priced mids and someone who wont keep a clean sheet anyway

    Any thoughts?

I hope my strikers can score the bare 6 between them this week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,262 ✭✭✭iroced

    @ COH

B for Sanchez and a short-term punt on Mata.

    - edit -
Hmm... Just had a look at Mata playing time in the PL. Last 3 games: 66, 0, 45. I may reevaluate my short-term punt...
Mata played 73 min against City in the League Cup too.

    So maybe A or C Pieters/Sanchez/Lallana.

    Will roll it I think.

Collins, Capoue, Sterling and Amat will be on the chopping block next week with 2FT

Would appreciate an opinion or two, getting very confused here!

I'm fairly set on Defoe to Deeney, but also looking at Williams to Pieters with my 2nd FT. If I do that transfer it gives me the cash to do Theo to Coutinho either this week or next week.

I already have Ozil and Firmino, and Capoue would come in for Theo if I keep him and he doesn't play.

    So....
    1. Williams to Pieters
    2. Williams and Theo to Pieters and Coutinho for -4
    3. Save my 2nd FT

Just realised I have the cash to do Holebas instead of Pieters. I'd better get another beer, I could be here a while yet!!

I've no idea what to do with Walcott, bloody Stanislas with his 75% chance of playing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,962 ✭✭✭Hogey007

Stones & Snodgrass out, holebas & lallana in for -4.
Wouldn't have minded get Mata for a one week punt if it hadn't been for a hit but really like the look of Liverpools next few fixtures so doubling up on lallana & firmino. I also have double arsenal midfield (Walcott sanchez). With fletcher as bench fodder.
Probably the first time it's worked out that my midfield is essentially covered by 2 teams but assuming Walcott is ok for next week (if not tomorrow) I'm happy with those 4 for now.

Perhaps option 2 should be the move and them the Q becomes Deeney for a hit?

Is Lovren to Pieters as part of a 4 pts hit madness? Supposed to be a mid-term move (next 5 games to try and take advantage of Stoke good run). Lovren was brought for the same reasons during my GW6 WC. But 'Pool are not as solid at the back as I'd have expected (of course they're gonna have a CS now this week-end :pac:).

My other transfer being either Walcott or Antonio to Mata punt/second 'Pool mid/Stoke punt. If Walcott is set to return next Tuesday I may rather move Antonio out which was my original plan. I'm wary though since I heard "hamstring"...

    Yeah, think you are right.

If Sunderland do anything it will probably be Defoe, but Deeney has Hull. I'll mull it over a bit more.

Walcott to Mata for free especially if first sub is good?

I already have the same double Arsenal/Pool midfield. Was planning to ship an Arsenal mid next week when there fixtures get tough. Walcott injury tempting me to use my FT for a punt rather than roll it. Mata the punt option, sterling or Stoke mid (to upgrade Holberg as fifth mid) is my shortlist for a longer term replacement

    Any opinions?

Walcott to Shaquiri done....doesn't feel very inspiring tbh but none of the other options were really jumping out at me.

Will hold my other FT until next week when more major surgery will probably be required

I'm getting worried over Mata playing time now. I have Rashford too.

About the 4 pts hit, It's just that if I don't do it this GW with Swansea at home I'll have to wait for GW12 (Bou H) since they're away to WH next GW and I could lose £0.2m on Pieters.

I'm not very happy with Antonio so was actually thinking of ditching him and benching Walcott if he's really due back midweek. First sub is Whelan. I could play 4 at the back (McAuley home to City though and I have Foster) or play Whelan and hope for a 3 pointer ;).

Had you seen that Antonio played up front in the League cup midweek and that Bilic heaped praise on him therafter?

I'm all for getting rid of WHU assets myself but uf that did become a thing....

He isn't a striker though and he had a poor game playing up front against Boro GW7. He certainly looks more effective as a winger

I'd keep Walcott for the time being. He probably won't start/play tomorrow but given the form he's been in recently and his price I'd be in no rush to get rid. I'd expect an open game from arsenal v spurs at home and even though united away sounds tricky, he then has 3 very nice fixtures.
Mata for me would be nice to have for tomorrow but that's all. I don't think I could be sure he'd play on any given week.
My advice would be sit tight for this week. If you don't have enough playing subs to cover the possibility of Walcott not playing I'd switch hojberg to a very cheap 5th mid to guarantee 2 points (fletcher) or even go with joe Allen if you have the extra .8 to spare although then it prob gives you an unnecessary headache of who to bench when Walcott returns

Shipped out Walcott to Coutinho as part of -4.

Was planning on doubling on Liverpool anyway. I know Palace is Liverpools bogey team but they haven't been shy at scoring against them.

Only 2 teams have conceded in every match this season, Sunderland and........ Que the Palace clean sheet tomorrow
