Good news for Ireland in several respects alright, starting with one of the biggest companies in the UK having already committed to moving over here quite recently! :)

Such comments are completely uncalled for Eddy.

It is not xenophobic to say his grandkids will most likely be British citizens. There's nothing hate filled about that at all.

Maybe not hate filled but definitely small minded, petty and spiteful, but pretty much what ive come to just accept as being part and parcel of dealing with your average trogladytic unionists though so hardly surprising
So if it is small minded petty and spiteful for me to claim that his grandkids will most likely be British citizens I take it you would also be of the opinion that it would be small minded petty and spiteful for a nationalist to say they will be Irish citzens?

Do you believe the IRA were fighting for you Francie? Do you support terrorists?

They were fighting to get the British to relinquish their strategic interest and succeeded in getting them to do that, in writing, as I have shown you.
Former members are now in a power sharing government in NI and are proceeding in their quest of a united Ireland.
    LOL. Utter drivel.

So? Staying in the single market means free movement of people. I didn't vote for Brexit for economic reasons, that will sort itself out in time.

They fought to eradicate Unionism from Northern Ireland, to destroy the state and force NI into an Irish Republic. Which they surrendered in 1998. Many famous ex PIRA members have said as much, even as far as to say they didn't fight for Catholic equality, they saw it as a revolutionary movement.

Good thing for Britain has had independence for centuries, so.

People in their 40's now may never see Britain recover in their lifetimes. It may even require IMF intervention if it goes pearshaped.
Turkeys voting for Christmas springs to mind.

We will finally get it back once we leave. Long live the Union.

Get back something you've already had for centuries and not lost. Congratulations. And all you had to do was throw your country down the toilet to achieve it.

Unless we're talking about your German monarchs and Norman ancestry, of course? :D

Pining for a version of Britain that never really existed in the first place. That is what happens when you dumb down the education system I suppose, a nation of people, easily led.

The thing is our economy is going to get hurt if the English don't get this Brexit thing right. Also, the soft unification that's been happening could be harmed by a hard Brexit which could destabilise the north.

It's a mess. I wish the referendum would have been multiple choice.

    Leave the EU: yes/no
    Leave the common market: yes/no

That would probably have split the no vote because common market sounds kinda benign like 'Taking the trouble 'n strife daahhhn the bloody common market to get sum jellied eels for the Jim Skinner, innit'.

I hate what they have done here because it was the blind leading the blinder.

Well well well, this is going to be great.

Imagine the multi-nationals over here with a load of Irish people doing Spanish CS.

Brexit is doing all sorts of odd things.

I remember discussing a UI before and reminding the 'never-never-nevers' that if there's one thing predictable about the future it's that it is entirely unpredictable. If someone had told me that FG would be championing a UI, suggesting that the we pay the 6 counties' bill to remain in the EU and praising the SNP leader I'd have said:

It isn't. And I am not getting sucked into were IWF wants to deflect to.

So, the famine, Trevelyan, the Indian famines in the 18th century under British rule, 19th century colonialism, certain aspects of the troubles, Britain’s size relative to Brittany, weird Rothchild conspiracy theories, Mao's Little Red Book, the Irish Republic proclaimed in arms at Easter 1916, the EU & Euro being illegal and homophobia - are all related to Brexit.

But when someone brings up - supporting the provos - only then do ‘republicans’ mutter about ...something ‘off-topic’ something...

Iwasfrozen wants to deflect from his current gaff by finding out if I supported the IRA. It is entirely irrelevant and I have no intention of discussing that here, and I said so.
I don't have a problem with the thread wandering a bit. But we all know where that particular line of high moral ground nonsense will end up.

Spot on. I am sure people reading the thread are sick of hearing about the IRA murderous ways.

Whitehall is expected to have to recruit thousands - as many as 30,000 according to a recent internal Deloitte's assessment - of civil servants to deal with the challenge of extricating the UK from the EU after June's referendum vote.
If those civil servants were on £33K a year then it would be a billion pounds a year.

Also if the staff are only needed for the trade negotiations then they've no incentive to do a quick job.

All the IRA/Unionist talk is a bit irrelevant so a funny story this evening to get back on topic- UKIP Welsh MP, who campaigned for Brexit, has asked First Minister of Wales to ask Ireland to draw down EU funds to help pay for Welsh motorways after Brexit.
    Carwyn Jones replied
[font=Georgia, Arial, Verdana, sans-serif]He campaigned in June to end European funding for Welsh roads – he can’t now go to another EU member state and ask them to make up the shortfall that he himself campaigned to engineer in the first place.

Deloitte, the big four consulting firm?

If they told me I needed 30,000 staff for a project, I'd budget for 500.
