That looks to be it now for the season for Seamus. He’ll finish out the next three days and he’ll rock up at the K Club and that’s him done then until probably late October or early November. +6 today not sure what’s happening but he seems to have lost something or it could well be the hip injury that’s the cause of all this the last few months.

What was shaping up to be an excellent Autumn has petered out. He’s got an affiliation with the K Club and it would have been brilliant to see him playing there before heading out for the Ryder Cup but it wasn’t to be. It will be great to see him in action in a few weeks time though, hopefully a break and then the home crowds rejuvenates him.

He's entered in the Switzerland masters, Irish Open and BMW PGA too, whether he'll play all 3 remains to be seen

First nine of round 2 a wretched display.-5 bogeys ( yes -including the regular bogey 6) and no birdies. No club seems to be working .Detached from the field . Cutting a sorry figure at the moment. Should develop an upset stomach or a sore back and withdraw to save further embarrassment.

Seamus is now last on his own - 5 shots adrift of the player in second last place.

Nice bounce back on the back 9 with 3 consecutive birds.

    Free Palestine 🇵🇸

Well golf is one helluva crazy game. Seamus has only gone and strung together 4 consecutive birdies in middle of back nine... holing putts of 7 , 17. 27 and 67 ft. 🤣

The knee is giving him a lot of bother. Sky showed him hobbling about the place and in obvious pain bending to take the ball out of the hole.

I’m surprised he’s playing on. He was limping a bit yesterday. 68k he’ll get if he plays on. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t play k club

There’s also world 1.3 ranking points at stake for 49th place.

And from Wentworth. It's been obvious something has been hampering him in recent months. Hopefully gets himself fit and well for next season. With making the Top 70 of the Fedex he's guaranteed to be in all of the so called 'elevated events'.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,784 ✭✭✭gypsy79

    Top 50 you mean

And are you sure? There is only going to be about 70 places in elevated events and top 70 definitely not automatically in as there are ways in

I dont think he will be eligible for elevated events

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,784 ✭✭✭gypsy79

    He will be

"Eligibility for the remaining seven Signature Events (field sizes anticipated to be between 70-80 players) includes the top 50 members from the 2022-23 FedExCup standings and 15 members who can play their way in through The Next 10 and The Swing 5."

Seamus was clearly injured since the early part of the summer but played through in the hope of falling over the line and making the Tour Championship. He faded out of it towards the end as we all know and by all accounts he knew a few months back his Ryder Cup aspirations were done as he knew the injury was there. Not sure if he needs any type of surgery but as of last week he needs 10 weeks to get it right.

The fall events are where he made his money and points in 2022 so I would imagine the aim is to be right for those and try and start the season well again. As he finished inside the top 50 of the FedEx, he’s automatically in to the 8 signature events and even if he was to finish last in all 8 of those, he’s guaranteed to bank $2m from those events alone. So he is in for a bumper year money wise and any fears of keeping his card through 2024/25 should be taken care of already with these no cut events with so many points and money on offer.

$2m for coming last in 8 events - that is insane! He really picked a good time to hit some form in his golf career.

Hopefully he can get his body right and really take advantage, maybe even qualify for the next Ryder Cup.

No power in next week's event which he was supposed to be defending, I presume that means we won't be seeing him again this year, injury must've been bothering him for a while, means he's going to be on the back foot from January (Presuming he's at least back in January). At least he's qualified for all the big events

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,784 ✭✭✭gypsy79

Not at all...season only starts in January now

And he is in all the elevated events due to finish this season

    He is gravy

    Shane isnt....looking forward the attacks

    Hope Seamus comes back strong

Good to see Seamus back on the timesheet on pga this week

    Seems to be starting well.

-2 is usually a decent start but this course is a pitch and putt course. -34 won in 2022 but good solid round after a long time out of the game

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,722 ✭✭✭abff

Top 20 would be a good result.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,869 ✭✭✭DellyBelly

He's having a bit of a mare.....pretty close to last.

  • Registered Users Posts: 854 ✭✭✭Icemancometh

Lightning start today, already at his steady two under for the round.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,078 ✭✭✭billy3sheets

6 under for 9 holes today. He'd be happy with that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,078 ✭✭✭billy3sheets

And no sooner had I posted this than he trebles his 10th ☹️

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,863 ✭✭✭Pogue eile

You would have to wonder is it a concentration issue of sorts, has an incredible amount of double bogey or worse scores, he certainly doesn't lack for Birdies and cant be accused of being boring!
