hi gents,recommendations for a sling for a remington 700 223,with the mod,bipod etc,there will be a bit of weight in it,thanks,...ps would want one 2"wide aprox.

They are not cheap but check out Niggeloh slings. The best there are in my opinion.

Done a review on them some time back.

I have a seeland sling that has a zip down the middle so can be worn like a conventional sling or with two shoulder straps and find it good

I've been using this for years for my Sako 75 308 with the bi-pod and sometimes with the mod on.
All the weight is carried on your hips, so no aching shoulder. Best bit of kit I have for long walks out in the fields.

I like the Niggeloh, it's comfortable and the neoprene has a little bit of give.

I tried the double strap but it's only good if the studs or cups are in the side of the rifle stock so it can sit flat against your back. I had the Gunslinger holster too and it did its job but every time I got into a vehicle I had to take it off or it was sticking in my lower back. I tried out a 3HGR lately, a clever set up and holds the rifle securely. Only complaint was the rubber shoulder pad was a bit harsh and dug into the shoulder. I would have taken it off if it was mine.

I think it's hard to beat a good single strap sling...like the Niggeloh

Try a 3hgr light harness. Have one for my Ruger Precision Rifle which is a tank and it's spot on.
