"I got David Blunkett brought over here"

Did they kidnap him or what? She's very aggressive.

George saying Theresa May giving it the old "Let's make Britain great again" is marvellous, and then adding "whether they do or not is moot!" was a remarkable piece of radio.

Consequences? F*ck 'em! Let's just say whatever we want! Wahey!

Not once, during all those times when he had Shane Coleman on the Right Hook to discuss Brexit was George pro-Brexit. He always took a very pro-EU stance whenever he had arch eurosceptic Professor Gwynne Something on. Now he's having wet dreams about Enda Kenny making "taking our country back" speeches. George is getting more consistently inconsistent by the day. In other words...a bull****ter of the highest order.

Whatever the contrary view is George will have it.
The soothsayer act really is boring.

Just on this am I imagining it or was he not fawning over Hillary Clinton several years ago, around the time she was challenging Obama for the Democratic nomination, I believe? I have vague memories of him interviewing her like a starstruck teenager. Now she is, in George's opinion, one of the worst ever presidential candidates.

The would be pretty much my memory of it too.

George on about vaccines again. "theses 400 young women whose lives have been ruined...... possibly by a vaccine" The doctor from cork isnt letting him get away with it.

I know George often says things to rile people up or get listeners but its dangerous when he talks about something serious. Another person on here said George only sees things in black and white, absolutes can be dangerous as few things are so simple.

Its obvious here George is anti this vaccine.

George talking absolute drivel again about vaccines. Complaining that the information isn't on the website he is looking at. Caller rings in and gives him two Irish websites and he isn't interested as it's not on his specific website. Starts quoting the fda then and doesn't understand that they don't license the drug in Europe so whatever they are saying is irrelevant to the conversation. A very dangerous subject to be ignorant on.

Just to give an example of how dangerous...
How many minds would be changed by his constant berating of this vaccine and in turn, how many lives with this cost? A true and real consequence of negligent broadcasting

I accidentally caught a few seconds of this today when I got in the car at lunch. Can't believe he's still at this crap. Has Dr. Kelly not pulled him up on it yet?

At around 12.40pm today, Hook interviewed a lady from Trinity by the name of Ingrid Hook about the burning - ahem - issue of knotweed.

I mean, can he not get people to come on the show now?

I'd sack George and give her the job.Sounded sharp and on the ball.

Knotweed is a potentially very expensive problem by the way.

I thought I heard The Lovely Ingrid talking about Knotweed on his old show a while ago. Perhaps she's getting repeat fees.

I had a problem with hook on his last show and I have a problem with hook on this show. You turn on newstalk and more often than not it's hook who will be talking or else they are on an ad break or else going to a break. I don't have the radio on to hear hook ranting in faux outrage, I want to hear his guest speak. Try it out, I bet 7 times out of 10 when you switch on it will be hooks voice you hear or else they will be on a break.

Who is this fluffer who comes in about this time excreting sound bites from George. Its so staged. Shes there just to tease a bit of outrageous comment out of him.

    That was mid-June

Hook's opens his show with his ignorant take on the HPV vaccine again. The man is dangerous.

And speaking of openings, I still cringe every time I hear that 'hitting the high notes...' intro.

Seems incapable of understanding. Hate to say he's past it,but it appears that way.

I switched off soon after, a common theme for Newstalk shows for me these days, so never heard him on it this time.

I really really hate the way he argued it the other day. Kept defending himself saying that he was just asking the question that others wouldnt. As all hsi arguments were shot down the last day, he descended to arguing that he couldnt find the information on the HSE website. He was incapable of admitting defeat or acknowledging that he was wrong.

But the worst thing is that I am not sure if he even believes it himself. Newstalk seem to be going for rile people up to get them listening.

It's clearly this. I don't listen to it now. It's really weird sitting in my office with no Newstalk on a Friday.

That's why I keep posting about it. It wasn't perfect before, but they've done a lot of damage recently and it annoys me intensely.

Especially because several of the presenters clearly don't like each other, makes for uncomfortable listening.

Oh, I'll turn it on at two, but it really just serves to p*ss me off that it was Sean's show - of all the f*ckin shows on the station - that suffered to accomodate the other stuff.

How much do contributors get to go on with George??

Was wondering this myself. the 'Here come the girls" segment seems to be a bunch of women paid to be outraged by george. Its kinda pathetic as george does his chuckle after some false outrage by one of the "girls." Its a bit like the late carry on films

Seems like Newstalk are going down the road of lowest common denominator tabloid rubbish at the expense of informative content, those eejits in charge have ruined one of my favourite stations :(

Pathetic for sure. You would think there may be something of interest to learn by listening to the slot but instead George brings in 3 "girls" with super excited voices to rehash what was yesterday's news.
