Lots of them in the middle of the night too - songs stopping mid track and dead air.

issues with JC's jukebox yesterday morning. News being broadcast 5 minutes before the hour. Show started 9.55am finished 1.55pm. Might have been v/t'd.

Same problem with Morning Glory this morning, one song cut off for a few seconds and carried on. A second stopped completely.

Anybody in the know able to explain what happens to cause that incidentally?

I presume there's someone listening to the radio - for want of a better term - whose job it is to spot when things go dead?

It does seem like it happens quite a lot on Nova alright; have heard it a few times myself.

I noticed something interesting last Friday. I had Radio Nova on at 5:30 pm to hear the news headlines. It quickly became apparent that the news I was listening to was the previous day because it was about the Barcelona attack! I switched over to 4FM, which had the same newsreader, and it was up to date!

Am I the only one to notice this "time travel" issue?!

No, I think I remember something similar alright - not as obvious (!), but it's definitely happened other times.

I noticed a "repeat" during the show...he made a comment followed by a gap then repeated the same comment...live..

I don't listen to Nova much these days but the last time I did, they went to what i believe should have been the news at 9PM, but instead all we got was a jingle followed by another and then back to the program. It sounded like the automation didn't play the news segment.
Given that Kevin usually has a commitment to quality in these areas, I'm surprised this is continuing. Something obviously is not right in Nova these days.

I've often wondered if JCs show is actually live. For some reason it feels recorded. Mind you, I still never miss it :D

I often thought the evening shows with Dee Woods sounded as though its recorded

Someone left a fader up during MG this morning.......music and speech does not work - I know it has happened to us all but normally there is somebody monitoring the output so its spotted quickly - this was not the case this morning after 9am.

Music has improved and she sounds like a proper dj...compared to mister "smashy and nicey".

Also the aussie is leaving today...no more listening to her dolcit nasal tones.

You had a heated row with your daughter because you thought she'd turned over from the radio station you seem to hate?

    That's awfully bizarre.

I feel I know'em quite well now, along with dig down and that "new" Stereophonics song...

I thought these guys were meant to be alternative, but I'm hearing the same 3 songs all the time. Worse than today FM.

Big fan of the Stereophonics but that song is lyrically dissapointing for me.."she's got a baby in her belly".....

Nova is transitioning itself - bit to quickly for my liking but jnlrs are the only thing that matters.

The Bear from Edmonton Alberta would be my first choice or The Rig from Whitecourt my second but that doesn't help anyone here really

So at least Beat and even Q102 is more rock than Nova now

I mean Q102 is more rock than Nova even I don't believe it
Beat 102 103? They're not in the same area as Nova!

Beat serve Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow and Tipperary. Nova serve Dublin and the home counties.

Edit: Scott Williams played "Under the Bridge" a few minutes ago on Q.
