Mock Results vs Leaving Cert Results

    I know that there have been multiple leaving cert threads already made. But I am interested in seeing how most people did when compared to their mocks. Also I would like to know why people think they did better/worse in the leaving than in the mocks.
    And also maybe next year people will look back on this thread and they might get advice from it.

    Mocks marking has always had a "scare them stiff" approach.

    Not a good representation at all imo, they're more-so for practicing timing and strategy etc. I think :)

    I'm practically the same but I got 410 in mocks. Hope I'm not being unrealistically ambitious.

    Real LC: Well that's still to come tomorrow

    Hopefully i will hit my target or even surpass it

    LC: 420-450

    Screwed up some exams, but 420 is enough for a nice engineering course.

    I got 340 in my mock, excluding music and LCVP was at a bare pass. Needless to say (I hope /I need to) do better than that.

    Actual: 505

    I definitely got incredibly lazy after the mocks because my points from them were over a hundred more than what I needed so I figured I couldn't possibly drop that much. The mocks are a good practice run but are often marked poorly in comparison to the real thing. As you can see from other posters, everyone is different depending on how much work was put in after the mocks (and yes people do go down)

    -Irish Got C2 in higher but tactically dropped and took the piss out of my leaving exam, spent 30 mins in each test and came out with an A2
    -Spanish B2-C1
    -Physics C2-B1
    -Business A1-A1
    -Economics B2-A1

    Didnt study for mocks at all and was bricking it cus I wouldn't get my course so I started studying for like 10 hours a day

    Expected: 320ish (Didn't think I'd get as big a grade in Music)
    LC: 425

    English (HL): C3 - C1
    Irish (OL): B3 - B3
    Maths: D3 (HL) - A1 (OL) (I dropped on the day because I didn't want to take a risk)
    French (HL): C3 - C1
    History (HL): E - C1 (The marker was rotten at the mocks)
    Economics (HL): D1 - D1 (Thought I failed the real thing, delighted!)
    Music (HL): A1 - A1 (So happy with this!)

    Overall I went up 45 points and improved my grades in 4 subjects! Trilled
