Honestly, the state is paying for her food and board and she's on the national airwaves giving out about not having any bogroll.
They're supplying basic food and shelter, but she's just asking for some dignity. There would be a negligible cost to the State to simply allow these people to cook with their families, to let them show their children a good example by working, and so on.

What exactly is the argument against allowing these people to cook or have an extra roll of toilet paper? It can't even be about money, it's unnecessarily degrading.

i missed the start, but would be interested in whethere she is on appeal
One of the main reasons that people are left in direct provision for so long is because they
are appealing time after time after having been refused.

But assume Joe wont ask this?

I can't afford a new Jag, maybe I should rob one.

    My thoughts on Direct Provision:

It's appalling. Cases should be heard swiftly, and people should be either allowed to stay and work, or be sent back home.

List of human rights violations so far:

    1) Foul language in front of the children
    2) Running out of toilet roll
    3) No foreign holiday
    4) Child forced to steal a book from book fair

How did she arrive in this country?

She is worried about her children's welfare in the centre. And she wants the same people she is fearfull about released into the general population? Comedy gold

From what I recall of the interment camps Direct Provision Centre that was nearly set up near me, it appeared it was going to be run by an utter tight-fisted gobshoyte of the highest order. I suspect the reluctance to issue extra bogpaper is driven from the top of the contractor, and not the Government, who would just pay a set amount per inmate. The same sort of tight-fisted gobshoytes are to found running many private nursing homes, etc.

Well the ratio of single men to women in her centre is certainly favourable. She must be very fussy....so to speak.
