Any ideas how to start a post and rail fence midway up a driveway without it looking ridiculous - or just as you enter the house area...want to put one up around the house but the drive is too long so can't afford it all the way down both sides of the drive and then another 150m or so all around side of house! Was going to plant trees along side of driveway..just unsure how it would look starting kind of at the top of the driveway on one side!? Need fencing as it's a steep drop off then...

Put a specimen tree at the start of where the post/rail starts? Something nice like a silver birch? You could put a fancy end post where the rails start? Or a 'fake' or real gate? Or something like an old lamp-post or something interesting to attract the eye, then start the post/rail fence?

    Heres some clever ideas!

What way is your house located on the plot. Do you have a field one side or both sides and does the fence have to stock proof. Do you have a garden area one side, if so you could just post and rail the field side.
