Is there anything to be said for another mass.

The police is now in control of the situation (I understand attackers have been shot), but the priest was found dead with his throat cut :-( (the other hostages seem to be mostly OK)

Hopefully not yet another terrorist attack :-/

Two men with knives stormed a church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvary in Normandy seizing a priest two nuns and other hostages. The priest had his throat cut before both men were shot by police.

This wave of violence now a daily event in Europe with crazed fanatics feeding on each other.

The aim is clearly to create a wave of hysteria and inspire mob violence in order to trigger a civil and religious conflict in the heart of Europe.

It is on social media that the priest was beheaded.

    Hope it is not true.

There are some reports that the two nuns and others in the church had their throats slit.

If true this is again another place where people should feel safe.

It is beyond sad what is happening in Europe, it would bring tears to one's eyes.
The last 12 to 18 months have been dark and every week recently seems to get darker.

I'm guessing these lads don't like Bacon or women having any human rights; still it's their culture so we must accommodate their hatred incase we might not be politically correct and for fear someone might label us Racist. Priest beheadings is something I last heard the British doing here in the 1600's.

Latest I can see on the live feed of French newspaper Le Figaro is:
    - Two individuals carrying knifes entered the church through the back-door during service (4 people were attending including 2 nuns)
    - According to police sources, at least one of them was wearing a beard and a "chachia" (Muslim woollen hat)
    - Priest is dead and his throat was slit
    - One other hostage was injured
    - The 2 attackers have been shot by the police

I'm pretty sure these guys are members of a certain Middle Eastern religion like the perpetrators of other attacks in recent days.

2nd hostage fighting for their life.

Seems one nun escaped the church and contacted the police, she saved a number of lives no doubt.

That particular Church was on the target list found in Sid Ahmed Ghlam's documents (he is an Algerian radical islamist currently pending trial for killing a woman in France a few months ago)

    Round and round we go

Ineed.... but watch as the cogs of cognitive dissonance crank into gear:

Just close your eyes and click your heels.
"It's a tiny minoroty.... there's no place like home
Tiny minority..... enriches our culture.... no place like home.... dissent = racist"

Yet Angel Merkel still wants us all to take more Syrian Regugee's.

    Will they never learn??!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,761 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

The priest was 86 years old according to reports.

We don't hear as much of Merkel's attempted bullying of Hungary and Poland now to take more refugees. Victor Orban has been proven right. Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic don't seem to be suffering these attacks.

Yes, let's leave 22 million Syrians fleeing war to rot because of the actions of a few.

    The fools....

Do they not realise the benefits of this cultural enrichment?

I suppose they will have to tend to their own daily Christian terrorists..... don't they???? ;)

France must be surely one of the dangerous countries in the world right now, you'd want your head examined to go on a trip there

The notives are becoming pretty clear.

"The men shouted "Daesh" and cut the priest's throat before being "neutralised," police said."

Disgraceful that someone would target a church, and a priest no less. These are supposed to be safe, sacred* places. Appalling that someone would do that and it just shows that this is a religiously motivated attack - why else would you target a church and a priest?

I wonder will the Pope apologise for upsetting the attackers in some way...

*sacred if you believe in that kind of thing

Going by the frequency of attacks in the past week and there is likely more ahead Merkel will be forced to resign in the next few months. I hope Enda and Frances have the foresight to thoroughly vet anyone we do take in with background checks, psychological evaluation and counselling etc

Europe wide political instability is on the horizon. It's a f**king disaster and very worrying.

There are not 22m Syrians fleeing war.
And those that did fled to neighbouring states where they were safe.

That should have been the end of the matter..... but Mutti knew better.

And Syrians are a fraction of our cultural enrichers.

No lets create a safe zone out in the middle east and protect them there until the war is over. There was no need to move all those people to Europe.

Far from it. Many countries in the world where you have more chances of being killed/injured.

But in Europe and related to terrorist attacks, quite possibly.

It's not the fact that there's genuine refugees wanting to escape warzones to safety. Its the fact that all these people with unknown criminal history or diseases are just being allowed walk freely into Europe. Let's not forget that their culture is incompatible with Western countries..

I was thinking of that yesterday, but then this is something on the minds of people. Happening to nations we share European citizenship with.
More people will see threads on AH and it is good for people to express their feelings on what is happening, as it does help to say what us in one's mind.
There would be less posts if elsewhere.

How much longer will this be allowed to go on, we need stricter knife control, 19 in Japan last night, more in France today, it's ridiculous that anybody can just walk into a shop and buy a knife, without any kind of background checks at all.
Muslims don't don't kill people, knives do!
