Pity when it works out like that either way.
dairy heifer, massive angus bull calf. Lifted heifer out to field and she's standing now

not sure if it was all over the radio in Ireland as well as england but there's been a big increase in the number of ticks about. There were lots of warnings about what to watch out for and what to do if you think you've got lymes disease from a tick. You can get brain damage over it...

Brother in law got bit and got Lyme diseases a few years ago. He was in some pain and discomfort for a few years.

Friend in house last night telling me a bit about a butcher that had shop in local town years ago when butcher's shop was not as well stocked as they are now.
A woman came into the shop looking for a chicken. 'No problem' says yer, and off he goes to cold room and brings in the only chicken he had.
'There you are Mrs. a lovely fresh chicken, the delivery man left a box of them with me only a couple of hours ago'.
The woman looks at chicken and says 'It's a bit small, we're having visitors on Sunday, would you have a bigger one'?
'I'll see' says butcher and brings the (first and only) chicken into back of shop and tries to plump up the chicken a bit stretching legs etc etc. He brings the chicken back into the shop, puts it up on the counter and says, 'There you are Mrs. that one is a bit bigger'
Woman looks at chicken and says I'd say it's still a bit small. Have you any bigger ones?
'No' he says 'that's the biggest one I've out there's
'Ah it's ok' says the woman......'i'll bring the two of them':D

Yeah, it's common alrite. Has he been treated for worms?
I assume you've rang a vet to get him looked at.

Right if some of you don't know my father bred a mare that is now jumping in the world young horse jumping championships in lanaken, Belgium.
I had a few mares and he had one and it's his one that breeds the horse that gets to jump out in the world championships (the lucky git:D).

Anyway besides the point.:P She is a mare by a stallion that stood in Lissava stud called Manhattan out of a mare by Grange bouncer (RID). She is a little grey mare called Rainstown Majestic and ridden by Michael Pender.
She is up against the big guns of European showjumping. In this class ( 6 year olds) there is roughly 260 horses jumping.
    Ireland is allowed 5 horses.
    Germany ( I think) 30 horses.
    Belgium 40 horses.
I think it's actually more than that (they make the Rules).
But it shows what we are up against.

She jumped today and was clear in the time allowed round and the timed round. All the horses that jumped today actually jump tomorrow again in reverse order of today. So first horse today will jump last tomorrow.
Then I think they pick the best horses over the two days for the final on sunday which is over 1.35 course (today it was 1.30m). There is also a consolation final on Saturday for runners up (not sure how they're picked).

But anyway if you want to watch a bit of sport with a boardsie interest.
The competition is on tomorrow again starting again at 8 am (I think it is 7 our time).
You can watch it here on http://www.zangersheide.com/en/FEI-World-Breeding-Jumping-Championships-for-Young-Horses-2016

and follow the links to live streaming of the 6 year olds.
Rainstown Majestic will be jumping at roughly 11.11 ( i'm sure it is their time)
so 10.11 our time and maybe take off 30-20 minutes for some horses retiring before this to be sure.
Anyway her number is 6193 and name Rainstown Majestic.

Maybe with some boardsie support she will get into the final.:D:D

You can watch it here too live. https://www.clipmyhorse.tv/en/live

I caused a bit of a disturbance over in the hunting forum about shooting dogs earlier today.

I'd say you'll be very polite with them!

I went over for a look but I see the thread is closed. You must have made a hell of an impression. Had a call from a neighbour saying there was 2 strays wondering over near the out farm. Brought the gun but no sign of them. Told the neighbours keep an eye on their dogs. As there'll be no second chances if there out on the road. It'll be a dose of lead they'll get

I'd be having a few choice words with the neighbours too about keeping their dogs under control

They're seem to be sticklers there for following the law exactly probably with good reason, but the lad saying looking for reasons to get out from shooting dogs really pissed me off.

They're seeing things from their own side of the fence i suppose. However if I did see a dog in with Sheep or cattle there's only 1 thing for him. You can't untrain a dog to chase animals it's part od their natural mind set.
