I've always felt that if AH had a smell, it would smell like Nethouse.

It has that plastic smell you get off new computers, mixed with cans of coke and the offensive underarm of a man who hasn't showered for days.

This is my 2nd account, first started in 2004 but then forgot the password.

Still, over 11 years is crazy when I think about it, was doing my junior cert when I created it and was looking for some online Irish forum to discuss the exam when i found boards online (probably alta vista or yahoo!)

I dont know them personaly but I think " Neil " Dennis" were the owners and also they were a based in the dun laoghaire branch also another guy called martin, witch i think still runs the Rathmines Branch

    Greetings,

    That's it.
The orginal owners were Martin and Dennis.
Dennis loved Quake, so did Martin.
    Neil was an employee.

Martins brother Christy was involved with Rathmines, wonder if he is still there

I introduced both Martin and Dennis to the wonderful world of Gaming.
As when they opened the first cafe, it was for net searching and emailing.
My PC was in need of repair, so I brought my game disc's in one evening and asked if could play some games, and so it started.

They use to have a set closing time, early in the evening in those days.
But once I got them hooked on the games, we would stay there till all hours.
    Happy memories.
I remember a fellow by the name of Chief, can't recall his real name, shame on me, who worked there behind the counter.

    They were good days.

    Regards
    Silverski

Martin and Dennis should have spent more time figuring how women worked rather than playing childish video games.

    Greetings,

    Yep, those were the days.
Now we only get to comunicate from our own space.
I miss the get together to play those "childish" games in the cafe in Renelagh on the weekends.
Wasn't the same once Rathmines opened.

    Memories.

Do any of the members remember Hunka Dale.

I have lost contact with him since we moved abroad. Would be good to be in contact again

I did a bit of lurking for a while,, It was a more innocent world back then.

I think when I did jump in and register, it was with an now long gone tnet.ie email account,, a few years later we all switched to eircom.net.

i can not remember where the first meet up I went to was but I think maybe in O'Reillys in Tara St station, or that huge pub on the quays with its own beer and many floors and there was another bar on The Quays too. If there are still photos in existence, they would be interesting!!
