    Greetings

I was checking some old posts and notice how long I have been a member.

That was a great night in the Nethouse in Renelagh, watch a live feed of a Quake match in France on a projector up in the corner of the cafe, when I was first told about boards. There were some of the orginal founders present that night.

Sorry to hear of the demise of the Nethouse, are all of their cafes gone ?

Its been an honour to be part of this board for this long.

Looking forward to posting 20 year.

    Regards
    Silverski

There's still a Nethouse in Rathmines.

I used to frequent it after a night on the piss in Tram Co. Making "wacky" posts on me bebo, back when I was a bebo stunnah.

Yep, I think it was formed in 1998

so there should be major celebrations in 2018 for the founders

No, the one I'm referring to is in Rathmines. It still opens for 24 hours, I don't know how they make a profit.

I haven't ever seen the Ranelagh one, which means it must be closed-down for a good 10 years or more.

    Greetings,

The Nethouse Renelagh was the first of the Nethouses.
They opened Rathmines second, and then they expanded with a cafe in Abbey Street, not sure if they opened any further cafes
One of the orginal owners setup in France I think.
I have loss track and touch with them since we moved to Australia.

Well given the compulsion of starting with 'Greetings' and then finishing with 'Regards

    Silverski'

I can see why it might be too hard work to post more often.

Saying it as Renelagh (as most people do) doesn't change the spelling...

I read it was a thing in those alt-whatever email chains they used before forums (I got the internet in 1999 so don't have a clue of much else about them), so it was easier to see who wrote what when they didn't have a username & such to the side of their post. Funny how people have kept the habit almost 20 years later, mind!

I was trying to be facetious. Nobody cares about such a trivial point.

    Now, that answers a lot.

There's an online contact form, why not ask them?
    http://www.nethouse.ie/contact-us

I don't know if he's the original owner, but there's a thin, brown-haired man with spectacles, whom I've always assumed is the owner. I'd say he's in his 40's. Nice chap. Once gave me the loan of a guillotine and wouldn't take payment.
