Yes. The food is ****. But in all fairness, what do you expect from a ****ty fast food franchise?

Your first mistake was putting Supermacs and restaurant in the same sentence!

Lovely spot and local success story too.

Best taco fries that can be got and the smokey bacon burger is delicious particularly when hungover, nicest takeaway burger there is.

In terms of Michelin Stars, I don't think it'll get any.
In terms of fast food, it's Michelin star class!! I love it!!

Mmmm curry cheese chips, an aul smokey bacon burger and a large coke anyone??

I never had a problem with the staff. Though I worked there for a summer in first year college, some of the managers were absolute a-holes but not to the customers.

Had my first Supermacs a few months ago. Boy was I disappointed. Possibly the blandest chips I've ever gotten out of a chipper.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,276 ✭✭✭readyletsgo

Why are the buns of the burgers always cold? Always! Makes the actual burger cold. Also, just a very cold bland chipper, as a building.

But their garlic cheese chips is alright.

I have eaten in a lot of bottom rung dodgey food joints in my time but have to say the food in SM's is the most tasteless sh*te I've ever had the misfortune to eat.

I feel sorry for all those who eat there regularly and proclaim the food is lovely as they clearly have no experience of what good food tastes like and must live very sheltered lives.

There are good supermacs and there are bad supermacs. When you get a good one...the taco chip is second to none.

It's probably one of the fast food chains that varies most depending on where you go. The one in Portlaoise is great, Carlow is ok, any I've had in Dublin are awful ****e.

Cant beat a salad burger and garlic cheese chips for a spot of fast food, I'd never go into any of the american ones when I'm back in Ireland

I should ban you right now. Flipping perma ban!!!

Supermacs is the business! I was in there last Saturday after a skinful of pints and JD. Pretty sure it tasted good!

Actually I remember (cos I had the receipt) after the Marriage Ref last year, left Pantibar and convinced friend I was staying with to try Supermacs! I ordered a Mighty Mac with dressed fries apparently. I think he got a bottle of water!

Supermacs opened up beside us last month. Smokey bacon burger and curry cheese chips is my new vice... It's a good thing there's a Chopped Healthy Food outlet in the same place otherwise I'd be totally in the ****ter, my conscious doesn't let me order Supermacs too much if I can see a healthier alternative nearby!

Better than McDonalds or Burger King but that's not saying much.

I got a 5oz burger today cos Sean O'Brien told me to.

The place is a disgrace. I walked in today, nobody took my coat, nobody showed me to my seat, and when I asked for a wine list she looked at me like I'd two bloody heads.

Supermacs is a weird one. It's not particularly good at anything...but I love it. I don't know why. The drive through one at Spawell...thanks be to Jesus for it, it's magic every couple of months.

    Culchie Supermacs ftw :pac:

The staff in my local Supermacs are friendly and helpful. The service is good. Once they left a chicken wrap out of our order and they said they'd deliver it to us or we could get it next time.
The food is good enough in my opinion. I do find if I have a Supermacs I'd be fuller compared to the other chains.

mine will to- cos they are so slow- but the food is always late and cold, as some young wan wanders round trying to remember what you looked like

If I could choose one of the chains, Supermacs would be my pick. I tend to avoid the chains though.

Don't have chipper food too often but I would always go for Italian chippers as a preference when I do.

They're all massively calorific and unhealthy but at least Italian chippers do the proper, lightly greasy chipper chips.
