Depends where they live, if in town and city grand. Public transport isn't available in rural areas!

Andrew, you're not very familiar with rural Ireland. Local link only serves some villages.

Funny how you forgot to mention it at all though, or how it has grown considerably over the past few years

Putting someone on ignore is great for contrarians who aren't worth the effort. Arguing, for the sake of it, over nonsense. Life's too short for such BS.

Bit of a strange response from the lad who sought out a very old post of mine to argue with today.

Really got the feeling that the brash one (Jade?) was head over heels for the cute blond one, serious jealousy vibes with all the threats to the young lad and the "she's straight" to her own date (who was obviously dissapointed to have the heavy brunette instead of the wee Mayo girl).

I swear everytime someome unique or confident comes on the show the majority of you lot start hating.

Unless they are straight white bores you aren't happy, and this coming from a straight white bore like the majority of boards!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,182 ✭✭✭Oíche Na Gaoithe Móire

I don't think it's hating on anyone. It's the over representation of pierced, tattooed etc on the show in proportion to their numbers in the population.

They are no more interesting than what you label 'straight white bores'. As for confidence a lot aren't confident at all, it's a front. And that's regrettable, I and the majority of posters, wish no one ill will. Just the same as a lot of straight, white, boring people aren't confident.

I don't buy it, it's everytime someone different is on the show the comments are all the same, if they are no more interesting why do the "bores" get no hate?

Even if the confidence is a front the comments are still full of insults for them

Admit it, boards.ie is a site for older no shenanigans people who only care for similar.

You seem to be writing a lot of people off as bores because they don't look interesting or fit into a diversity category. Being gender fluid doesn't make someone interesting any more than having short hair makes someone boring. With all due respect, it's a very close minded way to look at people.

But the real issue with the majority of people on it either being in a profession where the publicity of being on TV could be useful to them or being "out there" in some way is relatability. The more you can relate to the couples the more emotionally engaged you get.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,182 ✭✭✭Oíche Na Gaoithe Móire

Well you're giving the 'bores', as you label a large section of people, hate!!

It's just your opinion that the more 'out there' people, for want of a better phrase, are more interesting. To many people they may appear shallow.

In my opinion the older couple were the most interesting couple on the show last Thursday. You must have really hated them, being white, straight... and old, bores.

I never said they are more interesting, I said they get more hate for being unique (Ellis) or confident (Fingerz)

You guys have brought up "more interesting" or gender fluidity.

I used "straight white bores" that doesn't imply someone is more interesting or gender fluid, it's just how I describe your average boardsie myself included.

Edit: She was on Love in the Country. Even worse. One of those f'ers that does them all.

Of all the types they have on the show. If I was landed with one of crass, brash, sweary Northside Dubs they have in abundance. I'd shoot myself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 174 ✭✭Bocadilloo

This is ridiculous. The girl in the green dress was on love in the country last year. She dated a lad from Wexford I think. Now she's on here dating a girl.. These types have no interest in dating, all in it for TV. A bit more research by the show would be spotting this. It's not about finding love anymore, it's about creating a pantomime
