    Dark matter.
Why nine out of ten people are right handed.
How the Suns corona is hotter than the surface.
    Why we yawn.
Are some of the things beyond the wit of the learned lab coat wearing giant brains of our time. What other mysteries are we waiting patiently to have explained

Why is there order to the universe or perhaps more importantly why does life exist. The universe would be just as happy without life or existence.

If a phenomenon can be observed and measured, it can be explained. The shortfall isn't the scientific method. It ps the observational tools available at this time.

Here's some headway into the sun's corona question.

Gwan, we'll give it a shot.

What exactly is the universe expanding into

When challenged the boffins sheepishly reply "nothing" but I say to them loudly what's holding the nothing in then

Is there more than one universe.

I always imagined things like a map in a video game.

Close up view is earth, zoom out one and you have the solar system level with however many solar systems. Then galaxy view with all the billions of galaxies.
Could there be another layer? Zoom out again and have universe view with billions of universes ?

Space is just too big to find out I suspect, we still havent landed a man on our nearest planet so how can we learn stuff about things so far away.

I really believe that there is a lot of life out there but the distance will mean we never meet.

Either God, the ghosts, Satan, or the guy with the shifty eyes is the answer.

Miracle cures/nice weather/great haircuts/parking space where you thought there'd be none: God

    Murders/Illness/pestilence/pizza burn/papercuts: Satan

Bumps in the night/shadows/unexplained sounds: Ghosts

Mystery scratch on car/peeping tom/litter/fart smells: Shifty eye guy.

We learned quite a lot from probes.

The ultimate fate of the universe. There are 4 main theories 3 cannot be ruled out and it may be a combination of 2 of them but we need to now more about dark matter and dark energy to really know.

The biggies for me are consciousness/self awareness and how this is possible that a section of matter can be aware of its existence and be examine itself and the rest of the universe? Some believe that a sufficient number of nerves/interconnected memory storage devices will develop consciousness with sufficient input. Why is the internet not self aware?

Also what started the universe? What was there before? I know someone will say big bang but that is just a theory and does not explain what caused it if it is true?

We dont know if there is an edge. Can only see some 14 odd billion light years away. Could be infinite space and galaxies beyond that.

The infinity solution always strikes me as a copout, 'we cant say and we probably never will be able to.. lets say its infinite and then this problem goes away'. This crops up a lot in physics and astrophysics

Its not a cop out. There is no answer because no one knows. Could be infinite. Could be an edge out there somewhere to a membrane where another universe begins. Could be that there is no universe and all of this is only a simulation.

We know something can't come from nothing.

So how did everything end up existing if things can't come from nothing?

What about that time with Messi against Villarreal?

He picked the ball up around half way, beats numerous opponents an slots the ball home.

He made something out of nothing.
