i can only imagine the torture of being in temple bar with all the tourists running around out of there heads singing auld irish tunes.

That's very irresponsible ........ surely it'd be safer to keep them inside the pub!?!

Come onto Boards and be smug about how great I am that I don't lower myself to the depths of those sad pathetic people who will be out drinking in the streets*

    I'll be at home drinking

I'm still recovering from a weekend in liverpool so I hope I'm able for Paddy's day.

I may avoid temple bar as it's TOO packed and you can barely even put your drink to your mouth in the bars.

Also the gangs of 15 year old anto's and jacinta's fighting innocent tourists makes me embarrassed to be irish on paddy's day.

    So rathmines it is then.

I'll be doing some light jobbing around, a little gardening with herself and I might give the old General his Spring valet if the weather is decent. We'll be out for a constitutional for an hour or so in the afternoon, down by the river. Probably down t'Woolpack for a couple of hours around teatime, herself might accompany.

Watching my nephew and niece walk in the parade, will bring back memories of walking in many a rainy day parade myself. :) Don't drink so might go for a run, drive or meal somewhere.

No you won't. You'll be in a manky hungover heap or you'll be preparing to be in a manky hungover heap.

I will be sleeping and eating breakfast rolls and drinking lucozade.

I'll be working instead of getting inebriated. For the fifth feckin' year in a row.

Watch the local parade. Grab some drinks and have some of the lads around to watch the football that evening with a bit of pizza or some sort.

In the UK so will be working. Will have to answer the question of "so you'll be off for a drink after work will you?" at least a dozen times..

But I won't, I'll be in one of the best restaurants in town, if I'm going to drink on the 17th it may as well be with fancy bottles of wine ... and Guinness.

Work, watch the football, get to bed early.

    Can't wait.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Over here, the parade tends to be the Sunday before Paddy's Day for some reason. I went out in Manchester on Friday night, and eventually woke up on a mate's sofa in Birmingham yesterday morning. I still haven't recovered, and I'm only halfway through apologising to people!

Have a chest infection which dosn't look like going anytime soon - bed and anti bi's :(.

I'm not really disappointed - I'm as fond of Paddy's as I am Christmas.

Worked every Patrick's day for the last 8 years,Will be strange to be off but will be staying well away from it,Should be a day of pride and family fun but unfortunately my experience is that it descends to chaos and in one day it brings out the best and worst of us.
Enjoy it who ever is going out for it.

Heard the sh1te story doing the rounds about some students who went to the aid of a Muslim woman whose shopping spilled out on the ground in Cork?

Apparently she thanked them and warned them to "Stay out of Cork on Paddys Day".

    wtf?

    It's bull****

She just said "Stay out of Cork"

Which is pretty sound advice, in fairness.

It's remarkable in this day and age when people are sceptical about almost everything, that this story still crops up regularly and people buy it hook, line and sinker. I even saw it on one of my own social media pages last week. There must hardly be a city on the planet that hasn't made it into this story by now.
