    The difference is that cornflakes provide nutrition- alcohol is empty calories.
    But we are talking about from a weight loss perspective. Providing "nutrition" doesn't exclude them from contributing to the OP's issues.

    And tbh, Corn flakes provide very little nutrition on a per calorie basis. They are for the most part highly process starch and sugar. If you goal is to lose weight, then both alcohol and cornflakes are bad ways to provide your calories.
