Hugs La, i'm getting anxious a bit more lately than i used to and because it overwhelmed me last week i'm even more anxious that i'll get anxious :o Well done on making it through, fcuk the trembling, others barely notice.. Everyone is too wrapped up in their own world.

You hit the nail on the head. It's like a snow ball effect.

True I guess people don't notice it feels as though you're the centre of attention at the time though. Ara fcuk them anyway if they do. Can't stop going out and about.

Oh hell yeah, the shaking feels like i'm in the middle of a sizable earthquake, i also get eye twitches which make it seem worse. If i can move my arms i try to grab my keys or phone and aim my face at them until i can regain my breath again. It's a scourge i wouldn't wish on anyone

It's an awful bollix grem. Hugs.

Holds me back from doing a hell of a lot.
Get caught up on thinking of every scenario before going anywhere or especially if with new people.
I'm exhausted before even leaving the house therefor most times I don't go.

The old anxieties are playing up big style.
Fear being out in public, in crowds.

Had a panic attack yesterday at the dentist. Another today grocery shopping. Managed to breath through them but the sweating and trembling was very obvious.

Sorry to hear that, LDD. :(

Oh indeed, imagining all the possibilities, invariably returning to focus on all possible negative outcomes, then comes paralysis on the couch and another day of nothing done.. I fight it so hard, i guess a lot of people don't realise how exhausting it all is..

Rumination is driving me insane here.

    That's tough Hugo.
    Some options;
    Go for a walk.
    Do 10 minutes housework.
Or listen to the radio and try to sing the first song you hear.
    Anything to break the routine.

No motivation for any of that. :o

Thanks for the kind helpful reply though. :)

Lack of motivation AND rumination :(
Did you say before Hugo that you are going to counselling or CBT? Were you offered any suggestions how to deal with it?
A Mod from LTI started a thread on 'what's your way to escape?' but it might have got lost among other threads. It might be useful for people here to share their positive means of escape and what strategies have worked for others in the past to prevent slipping back into funk when they feel it coming on.
Have you a few means of escape Hugo outside of the internet? Has anything worked for you in the past?

Have any of you tried the Headspace app which focuses on mindfulness? I've been using if for the last couple of months and I think it is a great help. It starts off with 30 daily 10 minute sessions where you sit and follow the narrator's advice, close your eyes, focus on your breathing and physical surroundings and it's very much about not trying to fight or force away negative thoughts, just accepting and allowing that such feeling are there. It's amazing how your attitude to such destructive thoughts can change using this technique.

After the first 30 sessions which get you into the daily practice of above, you graduate to various programs which focus on whatever concerns you (anxiety, depression, insomnia, financial worries etc) and techniques to deal with them. It's about 70 euro for the app but with 100s of 10 minute sessions it's the cheapest way to spend that time. Granted, it doesn't always work every day for me and it's a slow gradual process but even for the few minutes during and after the daily session, I always feel better and my anxiety is more in control. I acknowledge it may not be for everyone but there is a free 10 day demo if people wish to try it out.

I did try the Headspace App. I do believe in mindfulness but the App didn't quite work for me.

Would definitely agree that those who haven't tried it yet think about the free trial. Nothing to lose really.

    Don't be sad for me, Shint0! :o

I'm seeing a counsellor on and off. I seem to subconsciously fight the process though. I never think of the big picture, just the immediate issue. Same when I'm with my psych.

The Internet to is pretty much my only outlet. A mixture of shift work and no motivation stifles anything else.

God, I make a lot of excuses. :o

Nothing wrong with waiting it out, for me it's about not setting massive tasks for myself, be that cleaning my house or fitness. I have always built too many mountains for myself and i'm trying to minimise that lately, slow slow slow slow going though..

I remember reading online about a guy in India or Pakistan who slowly chipped away at a mountain for year so that there would be a shorter passage to a hospital for his community. Perhaps this can be a metaphor or some such for our own troubles. (He succeeded in the end by the way).

    Hope everyone got through day.
    Majorly struggling.
Got appointment for psychiatrist, 31st August- my first time ever cancelling an appointment (cancelled it week before app so someone could take.it instead) and i have to wait 3.5 months bewteen last app and next one. On new meds and no monitoring.
    A disgrace.

Going to gp to raise my concerns and hoping she weans me off the new meds. Its making certain.symptoms worse.

    Sick of it tbh.
    Very very agitated tonight.

Notsomindful, is there a gp overseeing things?. Could you contact a community mental health nurse if there's one in your area?.

Well its psych overseeing meds and gp just gives scripts.
Dont have access to mental health nurse.
Maybe go.back to gp i dont know.
There have been a few moments where i felt I should engage my safety plan. So getting worried.

I guess gp could refer you back into psych, I've certainly done it when it's felt like I've 'fallen out' of the system.. Mainly because it was cheaper to do instead of presenting at casualty

Well i asked Secretary today and was told basically I cancelled so will have to wait.
I am not staying on the meds if I am not supervised-
I mean others dont even cancel appointments.

A bit shaky already. What little trust I have of them is now gone

Don't change meds until you talk to gp, stopping can be as dodgy as starting, it's terrible that you had to cancel but ongoing meds should help squeeze you back in soon..

Tbh getting sick of being seen as an expendable thing that whenever it suits system treat me its ok, rather than a person.

Oh you're talkin to the right one here, two long term conditions, dropped multiple times for both, diagnosis took years but the more I got put in the back seat the more I dug my heels in and now i must say I have good specialists on both.. Don't give up..
