    Another knockon ends the game.

Sadly, that was an inevitable mistake the longer it went on

    Well done Ospreys
,the timing of Rhys Webb introduction was the difference

    Very doubtful

He clearly tried to wrap his right arm. Nothing doubtful about it

Well that was just awful stuff really. So depressing to watch. Just bereft of any ideas.

Clearly? Looked quite like he made no attempt at all to wrap

That was poor from Munster, but they were up against it. Ospreys were well up for it.

    Eh. they scored 3 tries..

I thought the first half performance was excellent, and then the conditions worsened.

The difference between the two teams was the place kicking.

dare I say it but... ye are missing Williams..

I thought he played pretty well.

    TOL on the other hand.....

I'm still a bit confused by the signing of TOL as he isn't much better, and today was far worse, than the guys you have their already. Bar Murray of course.

Scannell, the 12, looks to be progressing nicely too.

TOL is just so slow, and his passing is poor. I was very impressed by Sweetnam.

Miserable result but Sweetnam was immense. Hopefully he starts at Glasgow.

Didn't watch the game but judging what I've seen of him since his return TOL was a poor signing - why wasn't Peter Stringer brought back instead? :(

I think there would have been a lot of screaming and gnashing of teeth here if Stringer had been signed, but you are right, he would have been better than TOL who has been a big disappointment.

Gutted I missed it. He looked like a great natural footballer for the u20s and I thought he'd get his break a lot sooner. Can you give a short synopsis of his game?

Stringer left Munster because he didn't want to be 3rd/4th choice. Why would he want to come back, at least for rugby reasons?

You didn't miss much by not seeing the game...

Strings is 38. If Munster have been accused of being 'jobs for the boys' with Foley, O' Driscoll and Fla getting positions, what would signing Strings for a 1 yr contract do? TOL isn't a great signing - he hasn't been near the same level as when he broke his leg in Musgrave in 2009 - but his nationality/birth cert is acceptable to the IRFU who have the ultimate say on who Munster Rugby can sign.

Before the game I thought we'd earn it to win but having score three tries I thought we'd win it with a possibly BP win, then we went behind at the worst possible time.

Their 2nd try came from a clearance from their kick at goal that rebounded off the post. We're still gifting teams huge yardage at times even with making the first tackle.

I've been critical of Sweetnam before, for his defence mainly but last night he good, thought Scannell was immense in attack and defence.

I said it earlier in the thread: If Sweetnam and Fitzgerald can build on their initial performances then Munster will be well stocked with wingers. ROM has proven to be a solid player. I'll be disappointed if GVDH is kept on. Not that I've anything against him, but I'd rather we backed our homegrown players to step up. Perhaps GVDH's wages could be put towards a specialist fullback (aside from the needs at 3 and 10) to give Munster another option there.

This time last year I argued about keeping GdvH, I thought he was worth a punt but he really hasn't pushed on. I think he might be worth keeping to get him IQ but is he needed in any Irish province at this stage?

I still think he has some fantastic skills but needs to work on his defence.

I don't want to keep him just to get him IQ. He would still take a spot that IMO one of the academy produced players deserve. I agree that he absolutely has an upside (ask Andrew Trimble!) but has too many weaknesses. There's obviously no space at Ulster. Perhaps the IRFU will try to get him to Connacht as some form of compensation for Henshaw. He's 27 in April so he's still youngish and a run of starts could make him into something. He's not going to get that at Munster with Zebo and Earls staying. In any case his absence from the 23 on Sunday suggests he's leaving.

nah we're grand for wingers thanks
GdvH seems like a poor mans Danie Poolman
We (like Munster) are in need of a FB- only have TOH and Leader (hopefully Gaffney makes the step up)

I agree. Munster need to find a specialist fullback with good kicking skills before the beginning of next season and stop trying to play converted wingers there.
