I got the "service unavailable" message unfortunately. I was hoping El Guapo! would bail me out before anyone noticed. :pac:

    Nice and floaty Artem.

Looking forward to his fight and hope he proves himself. Was such an awful fight with Ryan Hall.

Not a great performance, but can't realy fault him either. Ryan's a phenomenal grappler and shut him down in a big way.

It probably only allows 1 poll per thread. Don't give Paully ideas for another thread because its giving El Guapo extra work :pac:

God I hope Thompson can win this by KO as I can't stand Hendricks, but I am almost certain this will turn into a typical Hendricks performance of late, with some striking, but heavily based on taking people down and holding them there. AKA dull. Is Thompson's takedown defence any good for the possibility of making this interesting? I know he's pretty good on the feet.

Fairly dull card overall on paper, I am tired of seeing Big Country swing for 2 minutes looking for an overhand right then take a hammering until the final bell and losing a lop sided decision, I don't care who wins that one as long as it's over quickly.

Was always a fan of Mike Pyle but he's on a bad run of late, but his opponent was beaten by Pendred...

Benavidez to win again I am sure. Fairly sure OSP gets the win also.

PS. "THAT'S IT AR-TEM, JAB RIGHT HOOK, ATTTABOYYYY"

Would absolutely love Wonderboy to knock him out, but I can only see Hendricks humping him to a unanimous decision.

    This.

This fight does not appeal to me at all. Hendricks used to be exciting to watch around the time of Waldburger and Fitch but he's been about as interesting as white paint the last 2 years or 3 years.

Big Rig TKO from a big over hand right followed by ground and pound.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,663 ✭✭✭JoeyJJ

Hopefully Wonderboy catches him in shot however lay and pray, he has good footwork and might be able to keep it standing a good bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,405 ✭✭✭Lukker-

Against GSP, Hendricks must have had a small chemistry lab running through his veins. That was his best fight by far, but he's not looked anywhere close to that since.

I'm hoping he has better cardio now that he isn't 25% body fat and we actually see a fight but I think USADA killed the Big Rigg that showed so much promise a few years ago.

Hendricks hasn't been the same since that loss to gsp. After losing that fight he's just put emphasis on safety first and securing rounds. Pity coz he used to be an exciting guy to watch.

After watching hendricks last 6 fights iv come to the conclusion that I actually hate him and would be delighted to never see him fivhft again, he's got fitch boring at a rapid pace. He will find a way to turn what would have been a cracking fight three years ago into a snooze fest.

He's 1-2 in the ufc, will stand and trade and get knocked out. He's a tall southpaw with a bit of bjj. It's Artems fight to lose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,541 ✭✭✭Davei141

Hendricks is the best welterweight in the UFC and seeing the pics of him in great shape doesn't bode well for Thompson or the rest of the division.

Its been done to the death but the ufc is turning into the wwf having this Gall v Jackson fight on,a 1-0 guy fighting a member of the media they have no shame I know its business and all,if Ar-tem wasnt on the prelims I'd vote with my feet and not watch them, the only silver lining will be that rookie CM Punk getting strangled on ppv if Gall is any use.

Think Wonderboy is in over his head here, rig is top of food chain fighter, wonderboys best win is probably the whittaker fight I dont think a win over ellenberger holds much weight in the division mma match rarely works out but I think Rig is just too seasoned and grinds out a decision.

    couldnt agree more
this is possibly the worst match up for wonderboy, just dont see how he wins this one

I think Big Rig wins this one convincingly and then gets a crack at Robbie after Robbie feeds Woodley his own teeth.

The only WW's I can see beating Hendricks are Robbie, Condit or Maia but I think Big Rig could also beat any of them at the same time, that's the top 4 for me.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 7,269 ✭✭✭Gamebred

Rory MacDonald a shocking omission there, hes 26 or so and one of the best fighters to not hold a ufc title ever, hes whooped Maia and Woodley already and hes got better since, nearly had Robbie finished put it on him in v close fight before he was physically broken,

I know he has to prove hes none the worse for that war but I can see him winning the strap soon so much time left while the guys at the top are on their way last few years at the top.

Without a doubt future champ, he's going to hold the belt for a looooooong time.

I think Rory is the other person making up the top 5. Maia that Rory beat is not Maia now. The fact that Rory hasn't even been linked to a fight since his loss to Robbie in July worries me a little. I think he'll definitely be the champion but he needs to work his way back to another title shot, it's one of the more stacked divisions.

He's been linked to the Lombard fight for ages now taught it was bound to happen but obviosuly not. Hope Mike Jackson wins, was listening to his interview with Helwani he seems like a top bloke and talks a good game.

I think its the same Maia maybe small bit of improvement but result would probably be the same or even could see maia ko'd,his win streak is becoming overated wins over nelson la flare and magny arent contender type wins imo,he has to beat a top 5 ranked guy now id rank him just around 5 or 6,rory beat him 2 years ago and hes improved bundles since then he got the mount on Rory and couldnt do anything think he then failed in 19 td attempts after that,

Its an interesting division lots of similarly matched guys with different styles I love the divison,I was thinking GSP comeback ufc200 v Lawler next would be awesome,Anybody but Woodley getting the shot I'll be happy cannot stand him,

Just remember Maia is fighting Brown next that will be a decent win when he strangles him.

I missed that somehow. I think that's a massive miss-match and a bit of a waste of time.

I think it's by far the most interesting and open division in the UFC.

Mike Jackson has a golden gloves title so I presume he can throw a punch at least,I would love if he upset the apple cart Dana would be seething Galls gameplan is try to submit him I presume.

Yeah Maia is gonna shoot singles and try drag it to the mat,its in Brazil too not a good style match up for Matt Brown he excels in absolute wars I do like to see the styles clash though if maia cant get him down it will get interesting,Id like to see Maia v Gastelum,I think Whittaker looked awesome lately too that division is full of beasts.

Only Gall gets Punk if he wins. The photographer Jackson gets fuk all although Dana Whife tweeted him saying he will get Punk if he wins also. Pity Dana Whife doesn't exist, nasty but funny trick.

For that fact alone, I hope Jackson smashes Gall through the canvas.

Have just signed up to watch Artem's fight, but there's no live link with build up etc yet.
