Synesthesia's other half Roni-Pie, but she's moved on to that other wasteland that's quite popular ;)

Well my missus has played Borderlands with me, Gimli and Dudeeile..... Like I needed another person taking the piss out of me

That level 71 Unkempt Harald that dropped for me is a game changer. It just melts EVERYTHING.
I need a decent mod for my Gunzerker, who do I beat up to get one to drop?
Also, where's that mountain I climb to become OP?

The legendary class mods can drop from Chubby enemies - take a walk out the back of Ellies garage in the dust and you might find one. Get the bullet regeneration one - it can make the OP levels so much easier.
The other mod you will want can be found in Tiny Tina's DLC - the monk class mods with Chaotic Evil Monk being one of the best. (Basically you want a blue monk class mod with +6 in Money Shot).

If dual wielding pistols then make sure you have the sherriff's badge. If not dual wielding pistols, why???

The mountain to climb is Digistruct peak - fast travel there and talk to Tannis.
The first 4 runs are easy enough, then it gets a bit tougher. Hard to solo but handy enough in a team. I think I have an OP4 or OP5 mechromancer that I could run it with over the weekend.

I may need to farm the Sherriff's badge. The one I have is a pretty low level.

Now that TVHM has been opened up for my Gunzerker, has this opened it up for any subsequent characters? Or will I still need to complete the story first?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 798 ✭✭✭nocal

Higher level might not be much better. When I farm in BL2, I tend to do a loop of relevant/useful areas. If I get a drop, I get a drop. Much more interesting than running a particular named enemy and saving/quitting and repeating over and over until I get a drop. I may have a level 72 badge.

The right build, with the right pistols and the right mods are what make Salvador a beast.

No you need to complete the story on each character to open up the next playthrough...and this is where co-op comes in.

Solo away with you gunzerker and then co-op your other characters if you want to get them through it all. At least the playstyle is quite different for each different character.

I had the Unkempt Harold you gave me Cal but when I equipped the 71 version the DPS went through the roof. I killed bunker solo on UVHM in something like 5-10 seconds. Crazy thing is it's not that great specced a character, I bet you.

I have the final perks unlocked on the left and middle trees but my Money Shot perk is only something like 5 or 6.

Anyone else playing Fallout 4? I'm really enjoying it now - just started the Far Harbour DLC.

It's a shame there's no multiplayer, it would be great to have a few people building up some of the settlements.
The settlement building sizes are a bit on the small size too. But there's a lot of potential.

Anything that plays Red Dead Redemption is cool. ;)
Also, the Elite version was slick.

Ah poo. I'll probably do one more, Axton, and then leave it at the two.

When I was playing Bl2 on the cool PS3 (as we have learned today, my PS3 was ultra-cool as it had RDR installed) I tried to have my characters at different points. So when I was 60% of the way through TVHM with a character, I would start normal mode with another. I would also use DLC's to mix it up a bit.
I would also do a different sub-set of side missions with each character.

Even now, if I am looking for a bit of gear, I will farm it with the Gunzerker as he is the easiest character to farm with.

Unless you are going for the platinum trophy, you want a gear mule or you are doing a co-op playthrough, there is no need to create other characters.

Haha yeah. Though for a long while, I only had two characters in Destiny too. (3 technically as I had 2 Titans for the illusion of maximizing VoG gear drops). :o

When I played the game first on the 3, I had Axton and was up around the mid 20's. Never finished the story on him, and traded the console before being aware of the character transfers. After playing last night with the lads, I truly understood how underused Salvador's Gunzerking is actually used. Axton's turret would be much more useful for co-op.

Some people will tell you the Siren is the better co-op character. They'll tell you over and over again. :)

Sal's gunzerking should not be underused ever - he should be a constant DPS machine. The thing with co-op is how are the characters playing - are they trying to synchronize or is it just 4 individuals who happen to be playing together.

There are instances where the turrets are very useful. Interlacing the gunzerker and commandos special skills can be very powerful e.g turrets down, gunzerk when they run out and deploy turrets again when they are ready. But there are instances where the turrets are almost useless (e.g. some of the boss fights).

The siren is actually a great co-op character - and the more of a support role she plays the better for the team.

Maybe so. Just felt that with the weapons I had being single fire, Gunzerking felt kinda awkward. Feels like you should be using full auto stuff to get the most out of it. The stuff Cormac handed out last night was great, better than what I had, but I think, for me, I seem to prefer full auto's in this. (Funny as I kinda prefer single shot Scouts in Destiny)

It takes a LOT for a person (like me) who plays a Siren as a Tank to turn around and tell you to stop trying to run a Siren as a Tank :pac:

    The Siren is the Medic.
Of course a Medic is best for Co-op, it's like having Defenders in a Raid :P

When you're putting a raid team together, you want Defenders, Nightstalkers, Self-Res, maybe a Few Hammers or StormCaller.

You don't even hear "Do we have a couple of Strikers, Bladedancers or Voidwalkers?" :P

Nah you'll get used to it as you go. I find with my Sal, that even though the guns are auto fire, I am pulling the trigger each time to time my shots...as mentioned previously the common end-game Sal build is pistol based.

We need to build a Wall to keep all these Gunzerkers out!

    No not an actual quote.
    Get your facts straight.

I was talking about every time I bunch enemies up and am about to come out of deception...and the talent was Bore. Strange, I thought you would know more about Bore. I certainly know plenty about it having played BL2 with you :P
