Hi we are ttc no. 2 I have a 21 month old ds. so my periods are very irregular I'm on day 52 of my cycle . Yesterday just for the crack I decided I'd take a really cheap pregnancy test that I bought online and the faintest of lines showed up I had to squint to see this line. So I ran out bought first response test and had faint line . I don't know when I would of ovulated so iv no idea what dpo I am . Anyway so this morning I got up at 5 to test and forgot and peed in the toilet so I drank lots water and at 9am I did the test had very faint line but was lighter then yesterday's. This afternoon I took another test was lighter then yesterday's but darker then this mornings . Has anyone else had simular and everything been ok? I read somewhere that water can dilute the urine so im hoping that's it and just that I'm very early gone . Any advice or opinions would be really appreciated I'm driving myself crazy.

So AF arrived, think I had been expecting it with the spotting! The mysterious chart was nothing after all! ah well two more weekends and we can go again! I've picked back up my fitness so that's my focus until 'go week' which is a nice distraction plus I just feel like I am doing something good for my body. Good luck to the rest of you waiting!

Oh sorry to hear that Meubles, good to have the net cycle in your focus though and the exercise is good for relaxation and stress relief too.
Scousemouse, you never know, you might not be out yet! At least your cycles settled quickly you're on the right track.
We didn't bd enough this cycle, not sure when I ovulated but should be able to see it in my chart in a few days.

Definitely a good thing my cycles have returned, cramps are brutal, but glad I might be getting back to normal.
How's the temping going, deciding whether to start this month??

I think it is great, there is a very noticeable increase after ovulation (although mine was a bit whack this weekend due to a few late nights with vino) and a big drop on the day AF arrives so helps with the disappointment as it's a bit of prior warning for me. I'm glad I started it, I think its very informative.

Does it rise prior to ovulation and that hoe you know yo start bd? That's great you are finding it informative!

Does it rise prior to ovulation and that hoe you know yo start bd? That's great you are finding it informative!

It gives you a predicted 6 day fertile window and will adjust based on the information you provide. Mine doesn't rise until after ovulation basically before I ovulate my temps are generally 35.--(something) then after ovulation it increases to 36.--. The day i get AF it drops back to 35. I'm sure it's different for different people but I do find it useful, the only thing is that I can't predict when I am going to ovulate. Not sure if after months of charting i could but at the moment I have no idea so just BD around the fertile window then find out about 3 days after ovulation that day it actually happened. I'm pretty new to this though so others may have more accurate tips.

I think I might give it ago whilst I'm on days for a while! I'd say you will be great at predictions once you have s few months charting done.

At this stage I feel like I know everything about ttc except what it feels like to be pregnant!! Can't beat the determination ;)

To be honest, I really thought I would "know" when I finally got pregnant.

Turns out that both times I couldn't have told it apart from pms symptoms!!

I think some people get very strong symptoms early on, but for me there was no way to tell.

Not sure if this post is disappointing or comforting! Tis meant to be the latter.

That is actually comforting! I always get so disappointed when I get AF symptoms so good to know that doesn't always mean you are out!

The night before my bfp I posted on here convinced my period was on the way. All the pmt signs. It didn't arrive for about 10 months after that post. :)

Have been off all contraception since February and can't help but feel that if I was in my early to mid twenties and not trying to get pregnant it would have happened first time!!!! Frustrating doesn't even begin to describe it!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 299 ✭✭applesock

@redteapot , sorry this month is not your month.

@apple26 i totally feel the same way.

I had previously tried in a different probably abit of an unhealthy relationship and was not sucessful,we tried for a good 18months. Im hoping this won't be the case now this time round. Im more aware of my body , I'm happier , i am also a good 5 years older. I had a talk to my friend who just had a baby in December she was in a previous not so happy relationship ( didnt realise how bad these relationships where at the time ) and she never got pregnant. She was trying for a good two years in her new relationship for her BFP. So I'm hopeful that my time will come.

I hear you, I'm off the pill for a year and have been trying since October so I totally understand the frustration. Fingers crossed for that bfp for us all very soon :)

    Hi guys...
Our first month ttc , was on pill 14 years with no break so feel this could be difficult. Reading down through the posts, it really shows that it's not something to take for granted that will happen straight away. (Which I naively thought it was )Wishing ye all the best of luck

Hey everyone, I'm not quite joining this thread yet (next year!) but on the topic of symptoms/no symptoms before bfp. I went to bed with "period cramps" and told my husband our first month trying definitely hadn't worked, which was ok, we'd only managed it a few times before he hurt his back and that was that :D The next morning I was due my period...it hadnt arrived by 2pm which was highly unusual so I tested...and got bfp! So we knew very early, but if I wasn't usually like clockwork the next two weeks of cramps could easily be confused with period pains.

Two years later that late period still hasn't come, yay breastfeeding! :D
