    That's a fair difference.

It stopped raining here in West Limerick mid afternoon. Already there is a noticeable difference to surface water on the road surfaces.

I see more rain approaching from the South West so little respite.

Is this possibly one of the most widespread instances of flooding we've had or is it simply a case of more press and social media coverage?

It's certainly been a noteworthy end to 2015.

This is the rain that is forecast. Some people seem surprised by its arrival.

    To misquote a saying

" dear sir , while rain in ireland arrives frequently and in regular intervals , it does seem to repeatedly take this country by suprise "

.... and of recent 'by storm'

Have to say, if you are not directly affected, it's just another wet and mild winter, but if you are in the path of a river, the last month has been relentless.

Not much rain today so loads of people out taking photos of the destruction..

The whole "wettest since records began" continues to confound you.

Lashing now, the river will make the 4 meter mark, so i'd say Clonmel could get a serious flooding

Wind picked up and solid rain fall here outside Carrick in tipp.

Poor folks battling this to protect their property must be exhausted at this stage. My heart goes out to them.
