It has been announced that the fight will happen April 9th. Very disappointed is there any appetite for this fight at all ? Brook Khan Garcia Thurman I would have been more interested.

I am going to take a wild guess that the winner gets Mayweather?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,447 ✭✭✭barney4001

i think they all running scared of khan now,to young to fast and a heavy hitter mayweather wanted no part of khan now pacman is stepping back from it

It's business. Thurman, Garcia and Khan are all with Al Haymon. It's great that the PBC fighters are getting paid but they're going backwards.Maybe Top Rank don't wanna risk a loss to Crawford as a competitive but winnable fight against Bradley proves Pac still has it and then they go for the rematch with Mayweather. Too much money there not to do a rematch in my opinion. He may be a risk but noone's ducking Khan. He just came off a struggle with Algieri..

I would've thought that they'd want Crawford to beat pac man as sort of a passing of the guard. Khan needs to cop on and realise he isn't getting the money fights in Vegas. If he wants a money fight there's a big one on the table in the summer against Kell Brook I would imagine.

    I thought mayweather retired?

I would've preferred the Khan fight myself but I guess their just lookin at the numbers. I think Pac mmmight have been too much for Crawford at this stage anyway and Top Rank prolly wanna market the all important '0' for the future. Whatever,I still think it's not as bad as Berto. Surely after this Khan/Brook has to happen!

Why isn't Brook getting a mention ? I think he's ahead of most WW he's a world champ he's unbeaten. People might say it's not a money spinner but you would be surprised any UK fighter will sell and Brook has name in the states after the Porter fight.

As for people running scared of Khan not a hope. He's the only that can be accused of that Brook looking for him 3 years now. He has no excuse massive money involved chance to fill Wembley and a world title shot what more does a fighter want ?

Lets not call a frying pan a shovel....

Is there really any interest in Pac vs Brad 3 ???

    Of course not.

I was hoping that maybe Pac would shut that little squirt up permanently (Broner), instead he opted for the robotic 'fireman' Bradley... So what would this achieve when all said and done..?? The answer is quite simple.. Another waltz with the Moneyman...

'But he's retired' I hear you say..... Yeah, right... Like they are going to leave two or three million on the table before they retire (for real!)

This is how it plays out ..... Pac wallop's Bradley in an amazing display or courage, power and excitement... For once, Pac hits a scripted speech and call's Mayweather out of his phoney retirement, he states his shoulder is running on all cylinders, and comes across as aggressive (Oh my!!!!), he may even bait Mayweather back into a return clash, I would suggest that Arum has a well prepared script already drafted up...

Meanwhile, the globe trotting doping suspect is keeping an eye on the fight, as well as his bank account that is constantly heading more South as each hour passes..... And see's the opportunity to play the victim... This thorn in his side has just demolished the robotic Bradley, and claims to the world that he is fully fixed again.... Wow.. How can the Moneyman resist another $200 million plus for one last encore...??

Remember my little mince pies, boxing is a business... A money business. Both these players are finished for definite after this year. Pac goes into politics full time, and Mayweather on his real ego trip of 50-0 unbeaten. Both men can achieve this endgame, whilst slicing up a $350 million cake along the way....

But..... Pacquaio has to look good against Bradley to pull it off.

Pacquiao now confirms that he will retire after the Bradley fight
I doubt it. Prolly misquoted like the silly salt-water thing. He has all the time in the world to run in politics. While he still can and there's money to be made he'll fight. Arum doesn't wanna sell it as a final hurrah and Roach said he doubts it too..At least it seems to me that everyone here thinks he should handily beat Bradley.

BoxingScene reporting Nike want to cut ties with Pacquiao. What a ****in jackass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,395 ✭✭✭✭Frank Bullitt

Nike officially have terminated his contract.

Silly thing for him to say.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 942 ✭✭✭flanna01

It's a pity that Nike is not as concerned about their child labour sweat shops dotted throughout Asia....

    Double standards at its best.

So now, according to BoxingScene, it seems he'll still be wearing their gear in the ring!

No more Nike for Pac, I believe he is now preparing to sign for Under Armour (Source: http://pinoygreats.com)

I doubt any major company will want anything to do with Manny's name at the moment...too much hate from the media and the internet.

O'Neills should reach out to our very own Mainchín Ó Peáchfaoláin and get him sorted for his last fight :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 69 ✭✭bside29

I agree, too much hate from the media.. They even want to ban the Pacquiao-Bradley 3 broadcast in his own country. SMH

Entirely justifiable criticism. Pacquiao's barbaric and backwards views on sexual orientation should be condemned in the strongest terms possible.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 144 ✭✭RayK0309

Is there a special one-off tv special planned for this fight? Like HBO...I realise 4 eps of 24/7 would be too much but you know...Back in the ring after the May 2 fight and all that...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 144 ✭✭RayK0309

Thanks for that. I'll be honest. My knowledge of the sport is that of a casual (I'm here to learn) I know of and have watched only Abraham and Gradovich but I've read that it's a pretty solid undercard throughout. I've warmed to the fight though as it's neared. I am a Pac fan no doubt as he was the one that cemented by interest in the sport after DLH so part of me hopes he ko's Bradley with a right hook!!!..ya right

Hi folks. Question regarding this fight, or vegas events in general.

What time is the main event likely to hit the ring?

I'm taking the father in law to Vegas and our flight lands at 8pm on the 9th. He's a big boxing fan and I'd love to get to the event, even if we only catch the main event.

It will probably take around an hour, hour and a half to get from the airport to the hotel (staying at the MGM fortunately) and get our bags dropped which would leave us reaching the arena at half 9.

Sickens me to pay for a ticket and miss the entire undercard, although my experience of MMA events in Vegas is that a lot of people only show up for the main event anyway.

I've Googled and seen various suggestions for the in ring time for the main fight, from 8 to 10pm.

    Any suggestions folks?

I think you're cutting it a bit fine, as you can never be sure of flight delays, traffic, crowds, etc.

However, I think you should contact the event organisers / promoters and get an idea. In England main events almost never start before 10pm, the Germans can be earlier, so just check it out officially first before you make any plans.

9 o'clock will be very very close. That's working from a bleary-eyed memory of many a night waiting up for a fight set in Vegas..Mind you I got my times wrong for the Ward fight the other night so it depends on how the undercard goes as well I suppose. You lucky bastard!

Hopefully Bradley wins and Pac retires. Really sick of him these last few years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,276 ✭✭✭✭StringerBell

Im a huge Pac fan, I really like Tim Bradley also. There is no need for this fight though tbh, Manny dominated the first fight and got robbed completely, the second fight was actually closer but still a win for Manny.

I look forward to Manny retiring at this point, he is not the same force he was .

I think this is Bradley's to lose tbh. Dare I say it but a stoppage wouldn't shock me.

I think Bradley is well capable of a mid to late round stoppage, not sure how much Manny has left at all.

I think Bradley is well capable of a mid to late round stoppage, not sure how much Manny has left at all.

Manny is doing live streams almost every day on Facebook and between quick glances at that and seeing some sparring he was doing he looks absolutely awful. In comparison to the Floyd fight where he looked very good all along the camp. That plus the whole injury thing as well as the politics side to his life and the hate he's been getting over the gay remarks, he cannot be in the best state of mind either. Bradley on the other hand looked sensational with Teddy Atlas. Then again Manny has proven me wrong before but I doubt it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 144 ✭✭RayK0309

Interesting...Atlas might make a difference but if he doesn't then the result and manner of it I see as being a lot like the first two. Pillow-fisted Timmy is not stopping even a diminished Pacquiao. Who knows though?

He stopped Brandon Rios which was pretty incredible.

I'm backing Bradley to win for the bants. I've backed him in all the fights and it (wrongly) paid off for one of them. That having been said I've backed Argentina in every World Cup since 1994 (my first bet at age 6) so I'm murder for throwing good money after bad.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 144 ✭✭RayK0309

I know what y'all are saying but Ríos didn't train properly and wasn't motivated and maybe even had retirement in his mind before his announcement and U-turn. Pacquiao/Arum/Kunz picked Bradley as they can make good money on a fight they've fought before. I just done a search and that fight is on youtube (Bradley/Ríos) with the Lomachenko fight included in english. Imma watch it again...

Bradley isn't a great hitter, but has enough snap to hurt, and if Manny is careless and walks into one he could be badly hurt. Manny's chin is good, but not rock solid.

Bradely wins another ugly stylistic fight!

Bradley seemed intent on knocking Manny out the last time and ultimately ended up looking silly but I'm sure he and Atlas will be full on planning on Boxing smart and taking a leaf out of the Mayweather book. I expect Manny to try and put on a show for his last fight and as you say be a little wild and careless and I think Bradley should have enough.

Really looking forward to this now. If this is to be Pacquiao's last time in a ring I hope he gets the win.

This card is being shown on Setanta 1 for anybody that has it. Starting at 2 am.

Convinced Bradley is going to win a scrappy decision.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,276 ✭✭✭✭StringerBell

I think its Bradleys to lose going on all the evidence we have.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,818 ✭✭✭Chris_Bradley

Bradley wins this v a spent Manny with a points win.

Manny Pacman is a legend and to fight this guy in his last fight though deserves respect.

    What a career.

That I can fully get on board with, this is Bradleys to lose as I said but what a career Pacquiao has had.

I hope he can put on a show in his swansong, and I hope he doesn't have money troubles after boxing to the extent he is forced back in to the ring.

Any idea lads what time Pacquiao/Bradley will start? I see the tv coverage starts at 2. Is it another 5am or later type deal?

edit - actually just thinking its from Vegas which is 8 hours behind so prob will be after 5

The fight should start around 4.30/5am. Pac brings the fire!

Manuel Perez looks in good shape here, much better than I've seen him previously. Unfortuntaely I think his lack of power will be an issue here and he won't be able to put enough of a dent in Raimrez.

19-19 for me after 2 rounds, but I'm sure Ramirez will be 20-18 up on the judges cards.....
