The big boat is the easiest. Attacked by torpedo boats it doesn't stand a chance. Was in it last night and trying to destroy a boat that was a mile away spamming torpedo's couldn't hit him at all.

In operations the opposing team doesnt get torpedo boats turning what I dubbed the HMS Brexit into a massive pain in the f*cking ass when it spawns on the first stage of the Ottoman campaign. The British can clear the first map on their second life without breaking a sweat with it there.

Thankfully the two that follow; Seuz and Sinai are with the train and are a genuine grindstone for the attacking team.

How many god dam builts does it take to shoot down a dam bomber, myself and an other guy on a lewis gun and some one on aa gun and still he kept flying,
Also figured out how to salvage stuff off dead bodies, can do it to enemy's to, got a grewher rifle was fun more accurate then the one I use as a basic medic

The gas grenades are literally 'gas' and very effective, this lad wouldn't last too long:

Was playing it there again and running fraps, constant 60fps and the red icon flashing. Deffo has to be a bug it was like this in trials aswell.....unplayable like this for me tbh. Even if turned down to low setting its the same.....not unless I have something enabled I shouldnt have

Have a pretty low ping myself and the orange server icon does be constantly on. Game tonight most bullets were not registering checked the pings and there was a player with 256ms mine was 8. Don't know if that was why I was shooting marrowfats!? Either that or was just ****e.

Got about 3 hours in there after work.

Game on PS4 looks pretty impressive and seems to run fine with only minor slow down in heavy action. Server performance and connection seemed all good.

Me and a few mates all kept tonight free for a good oul session, plenty of beers in the fridge and a pizza in the freezer, thats my friday night sorted:)

Out of all the behemoths it's the easiest to destroy, a slow floating target ripe for someone with a good aim and an AA flak gun. I'd rather fight a blimp than the train or warship

I find the train easiest if a team work together. (same for everything I guess)
But with the train all you need to do is line the tracks with mines and you pretty much $hit all over it.
After that get right up close and personal with it and aim length-ways with the likes of the AT rocket and nades.
Thing about the airship is, if you have sensible people behind the guns, it'll probably never go down. First thing they should be looking for is the AA guns and it's hulla easy to spot where that's coming from. Most however seem to just look for kills first instead of threats.

The next couple of days will be even more interesting with all you new scrubs joining :pac::pac:

Not that I give a crap about single player, never any intention of playing it but Total Biscuit is slating it bigtime.

I've played the first two missions in SP and they are awesome. The characters are excellent. Story was gripping and had it's moving moments.

I think some are moaning because the first mission is fairly long, but it seems to slow down after that. I felt the second mission time was just about right. Didn't take too long and wasn't too short.
Maybe the next are just shocking, I don't know...

TB is being a pi$$ant lately anyway. He's actually just annoying me with his bitching about almost everything. I gave up listening to him in general a good while back.

Hey, maybe they're right. Perhaps the next few missions are crap but so far, I really enjoyed the first two. Will see how the rest go.

Campaign is grand for what it is, 5 short war stories. I've played through them and while I wouldn't see myself replaying it (MP won't let me anyway :D), there was nothing wrong at all with what I played.

This total biscuit guy should piss off and play COD.

Used to love TB myself but his rants on twitter about BF1 seem to be fairly extreme. In fairness to the singleplayer, its never going to be the best part of the game but from what I have played of it and the general consensus between reviewers and fans, everyone seems to be enjoying it.

Well had a few rounds of play last night before bed, and my immediate reaction was immense frustration.

I havn't followed this at all through beta's or alphas so didn't know what really to expect. For a start the amount of machine gun based weapons feels ridiculous for a WW1 setting game. I'd some expectations of some bolt rifles being available for assault class for medium to long range engagement and instead I find myself starting with a water pistol that is absolutely abhorrent. Whatever operation I was in, it felt like there was medium range engagements where the assault class was utterly useless. Not to mention getting the jump on people putting half clips into them and they just turn around and kill you.

Swopped over to medic where there seemed to be semi automatic rifles and it was much better.

Maybe it was just the maps I was on but assault class felt totally useless (annoying as it's my mainstay in the BF series).

Also not easy with the amount of machine gun based weapons, assault class looks to have NO rifles. I wouldn't expect this many SMG's and machine guns in a WW2 game, nevermind WW1.

Game looks fantastic, no real issues with play last night infra structurally, some questions about registry in terms of rounds hitting targets and massive frustration over the initial foray into weaponry. Definite "intense" vibe at parts of play last night when stages got a bit more close quarters.

Look forward to a bit more play over the weekend and hopefully unlocking some new weapons that arn't utterly trash

The classes have changed around a huge amount in this. Assault is more or less the tank busting class now. I use a shotgun with it and I suggest everyone give it a go. Shotguns are beasts and very satisfying to get a kill with.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,692 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

Never and I do mean never use shotguns in any online fps I play, find them to be the ultimate noob weapon.
No offence like, just saying in general :)

Might give them a go :P

I'm having the same problem. Game feels smooth, Nvidia showing constant 60fps but I still get the orange low frame rate warning up constantly. Changed to DX12 borderless and it rarely shows it but fullscreen it's up constantly. Had a search online and people saying it may have to do with a 60hz monitor. Windows 10 won't let me set it to 60 and keeps reverting back to 59, but Nvidia control panel says it's at 60hz. Then we have the resolution in game and it's giving me 59.95hz which is 60hz apparently. Doesn't bother me as I don't see it anymore, but for the first hour or so last night it's was triggering me.

Removing vsync also removes it so it's defiantly linked to your monitor in some way or another

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,013 ✭✭✭✭Wonda-Boy

Thats all I need to know, nvidia/DICE better patch this as its a ****in nightmare for me. Montitor is not even THAT old, already upgraded my GPU and RAM for this game I am ****ed if I am getting a new monitor.

56.99 in Argos for those looking for a physical copy PS4/Xbox

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭Noxin

@TheDoc Assault is a very different class to what you might be used to. Those medium - long ranges are gone however up close you are gonna mow through things. It takes a little while to get used to. During the beta I barely played it cause I got so enraged.

However now it's a different story and I love the class. You do need to pick your battles though.

You can unlock some different variants that'll help you out at slightly longer ranges. The MP 18 Optical for instance.
You should also get used to switching between automatic and single shot fire. Single shot really improves stability of the weapon for those longer ranges. (same goes for the support LMG if you're not bipod)

I find the beauty with assault comes with the nade spam though. Don't be afraid to fling those AT nades around or lobbing AT rockets into buildings if there are no tanks around. It's currently my top played class.

Completely off topic, but AFAIK, Totalbiscuit has terminal cancer and only has a year or two to live, so perhaps hes venting his frustration more overtly than normal.

Absolutely loving it after getting it this morning. Bought premium, thought I may have gotten a battle pack or two but nothing! I know about the monthly ones, just thought there may have been something at launch. Off to college for a while then straight back to it.

I preordered from GC and got a dispatch note on Wednesday morning but left the house this morning before the postman arrived so unfortunately I am not sure if it arrived - I am resigning myself to the fact that it won't arrive until Monday though...:(
