€143k I seen, insane money but when you compare to the cost in the UK you get really angry.

£75k in the UK i think?

It’s up on the configurator now. Starting 125ish but very easy to add to that especially if you add any of the carbon packs.
I think you could get the last model M5 for that sort of money.
Every U.K. car you tuber seems to have got one at this stage. BMW U.K. obviously doing sweet heart deals.

That's odd...the F80/F82 Competitions came with the carbon pack as standard.

You could also get a non Competition spec though, so maybe the new Competition is really only regular spec and everything else is extra?

Left hand drive markets get a non competition model and also option of manual gearbox.

Insane money lads. They are truly pricing these cars out of existence on these shores.

Yea I saw a youtuber saying that English BMW dealers will give you an M3 for c.500 a month if you've got 100k subscribers.

Good advertising for BMW if you've got loads of YouTubers owning one.

As Joe Achilles repeats when he’s reviewing/promoting these “it’s all about the monthlies”
Seems like it’s a given that nobody pays out in full for these in the U.K.

This is why influencers exist. Not so prominent over here in motoring I'd say but in the likes of the UK youtubers with large audiences can be a nice earner for both the product seller and promoter. Getting practically a free car every year or two is small pennies if it influences followers to go out and buy that product.

Our only hope of getting these type super cars is if they have a battery. The new class equivalent of the M3 will be a 2.0 engine with an electric motor, if the gov don’t increase the vrt % then this car should be much cheaper than the M3.

Hard to believe that an etron GT is cheaper than an M3 for example. The Tesla Model3 Performance is almost half the price as well and for day to day driving I think it would give as much thrills as an M3, be interesting to see them race each other again now on the track, to see if the new BMW M3 can beat it this time

Oh yeah, it's practically just renting over there but you do wonder how sustainable that is given that the first owner never actually pays the full amount for the car. Who pays for it on day one though, I mean the car still has to be paid for but it obviously isn't the first owner as they are only paying a small deposit and monthlies for 2 or 3 years at most. Who are buying them then at 3 years old when it's so attractive to just buy a new one on the monthly?

that wont last too long either, grants on the way out, watch the vrt rates increase.

Last launch of an ICE M3 in this country? It will probably make a comeback in another guise such is the iconic nature of the name but in a full generation of bmw models time we will be deep in the changeover I'd imagine.

I’d say what is standard in the UK is an option here to try keep the cost down. VRT on the car is €43,000. Sickening.

    Don’t think so.
We get identical spec Bmw’s to the U.K.
looks the same on the configurator to me just higher prices!

So ballpark 80k pre vrt. 80k already includes 16k vat or so.
60k taxes on purchase of this car

VAT is a factor too, they pay 21% versus 23% here in good old Ireland.

On the configurator you can go into summary that gives you the price of the car including a breakdown of vat and vrt. It would bring tears to your eyes.

My old car up for sale now at 35k which is pretty much what I assumed it would be up for.

You could indeed (that's what I have) but for the UK and Ireland, the only option is the Competition in both the M3 and M4 meaning that the F8* getting carbon as standard is now an option on the new model.

Usually it works the other way around whereby what was an option comes as standard in newer models.

They are introducing a M4 CS next year, I would assume a M3 CS would follow after that.

Having never owned an electric car or an m/rs/amg car I might be wrong but I can see the likes of mark's last 2 cars representing the future and past of performance premium motoring...Will the likes of the Etron GT and whatever bmw and merc release in the segment cannibalise the likes of m3, m5, rs4, rs6, c63 etc?
It undercuts m3 by 25000 which is huge

they'll be cheaper for a few years then they will wind up the tax

won't be long before your mileage year to year at nct is billed to you at X per KM going by kWh/100km or car value or some other bollocks. I won't go into more detail as that would be giving them ideas.
