Not trying to turn this into a 'look at lease prices in the UK' thread, but here's a T-ROC R for £264 per month.

I'd certainly class that as a monthly cost. Monthly cash flow, no, but cost, yes.

It’s part of the overall cost yes but it’s already gone , it’s sunk if you will

Anyway for what you are getting its cheap

It's crazy how affordable cars are in the UK. You'll often see posters complain about tax of a couple hundred quid too.

You can step into a brand new cupra similar to how you get a new phone in Ireland. 8k miles per year as with most of these....

Did some basic coding on the car this morning. There's really not much you can actually do that's useful tbh. Best option is definitely disengaging the start/stop function. Other stuff was wing mirrors folding when locking car, rear lights on with DRLs, reduce frequency of headlight washer, change start up display on I drive etc.

Anyone try the advance coding and what options you can do with that?

When using expert mode, be careful and be sure of what you're doing and how to do it. BimmerCode will do a backup before the actual coding so you can revert to that if something happens.

I coded launch control and the LIM function in expert mode.

You pretty much have the important ones there. It's useful for people who do not have enhanced Bluetooth to enable it to allow pairing two phones and music streaming.

I changed the remote locking to beep so you know it actually locks when walking away from the car. Make sure to adjust the volume of the beep though as it might annoy your neighbours late at night or early in the morning. I also set the front fog lights to come on with the parking lights at night when you unlock the car with the key fob. Enabled video playback in motion too but a bit pointless really. You can also change the sports dials from orange to red. Again a bit meh..

You need the Combi unit in the boot before BT music streaming will work as far as I know. I don't have it so didn't bother trying to code it.

Another thing I did code that I find very helpful is for the puddle lights under the door handles to come on when you put the car in reverse. It's great at night and helps you see/avoid kerbs etc.

Door handle puddle lights on when in reverse coding isn't available on the F10 5 Series even right up to the end of it's model run in 2017.

Really? I thought if it's possible on the F30 then surely the F10 would have it too.

Nope, the puddle lights are there and work when you open the doors but I'm guessing its just an older generation ECU or lack of wiring thing.

You might be singing a different tune in years to come when you need a hip replacement and they offer you a second hand one :pac:

ON the flip side, donor bone grafts in the long bones (femur etc) are quite common. THiose are secondhand real bones!

Remember the one Dave Humphreys was driving at the first runway club, the thing was a beast to launch, it beat some very fast cars that day.

The next Jaguar XJ is going all electric too.
It seems the manufacturers have decided that this is the future of high end motoring.
I do wonder though if the current pandemic is not going to throw some projections askew for a while.

That said the really wealthy people always seem to have money. The growth of sales of Rolls Royce, Bentley, Ferrari etc over the last few years is testament to a super elite level of wealth In the world. Not sure if that will change much?

I certainly do, it was incredibly fast for a big car. Lovely noise too.

I imagine they shall get wealthier. Plenty opportunities for cash rich folk to grow that wealth in grim times for the working folk.

    640i Gran Coupe:

Cannot be too many non M petrol versions of these on Irish roads, original Irish car too, fair play to the person who bought it. A hard sell now all the same especially at that price.

That’s a nice find Bazz. Scary that car was probably 120k new, and less than half that two years later. Still probably only worth 25k in two years time though.
I still have a soft spot for 6gc although I know some reckon it’s dated a lot. I’ve see the 8 gc in the mental and it’s not as nice as I thought it would be and too big.
I think I would have the 640i over the 440i For sale in Waterford for the extra luxury and refinement It offers.

That's been up awhile now, shame it doesn't have the factory sun protection glass.

Lovely rumble out of that B58 engine in this 440i. Not a particularly fast car compared to a golf r or something similar though, considering it's a 6 cylinder with 320hp. Must be quiet heavy.

To be honest I'd still prefer a 440i over a 640i. I briefly drove a 640d GC and found it very cumbersome. Yes they are luxurious and very refined but their size, width and weight just takes away from the sportiness and drive. Even the turning circle is crazy big on them. The 6 Series is definitely better suited to motorways and autobahns but just too awkward on most of our secondary roads where a lighter more nimble car would leave it for dead going through the twisties. While a 4 Series is hardly at home in the twisties either it would certainly cope better than a big 6 Series. I guess there will always be a comprise somewhere depending on what your looking for.

    I’d have a M140i. Great car.

Good luck to him , needle in hay stack admittedly, being a petrol , but you'd import a diesel for what ? Near half the price ?

Nowhere near that I'd imagine..... It's just two years old.

Yeah I agree with you, 2017 5 series have only just dropped below the 30k mark recently. So a 6 must be still a bit above. But probably not by much. You're really on a hiding to nothing buying anything really expensive.

Surprised how cheap they are. No 2018 petrol . One of the only cars I'd consider if changing ...

This would be better value if spending that kind of money!! I’d find the extra 15k somewhere if I was in the market for a 6GC

Always loved the look of the 4 series but a couple of days last year in a loaner 420d GC reminded me that the interior is dated and lower quality than 5/6/7 series. The seats which are the same as I had in my 330e lack support too. They were the main reason I got rid of that car as they were so bad on my back and hip. Might not be a problem for many but I would recommend extended test drive if considering one.
I don't think the 6 interior has dated especially with the digital dials and quality is top notch.

This would leave most cars behind on the road.
