Nonsense. Comparing IS to the Khmer Rouge is showing a complete lack of understanding by the poster of either organisation. Muddying the waters with erroneous statements like that get us no further in understanding the issue or finding the solution.

    Muslims launched #notinmyname campaign.

Yes- it was in Sept 2014. I never said it was this weekend or in response to the atrocities in Paris but apparently I need to make it clear that moderate Muslims have been speaking out against Islamic extremism long before the events of this weekend.

We need to find a way of dealing with those who use religion to justify their vile actions though. Would removing their access to said religion be an option I wonder?

Syria was destroyed by Assad in that he created the environment for rebellion. The west has been notably absent from that ongoing "Arab spring" conflict. Of course ironically it's actually better that Assad succeed in wiping out the opposition - a tyrant is the best/least worst option in these states.

It says in the headlines French fighter jets strike IS stronghold.my first thought was that was quick.my second thought was do they need permission from anyone to do this?

If the report on sky news was correct earlier, 'the international community' shared its knowledge of hi value targets in Syria with France ... I think its safe to say they have gotten the go-ahead

I still say we need to adopt measures that will deal with a likely invasion from Jihadists. A national strategy for such an emergency must be put in place. Use the Dail, Dublin Castle and the Phoenix Park as evacuation locations. Coordinate with Christian, Muslim and Jewish leaders to get the word out to the general public. Batten down the hatches, put up the barricades and get the guns on standby pointing towards the enemy.

That's a bit of a difference from Nuking them though isn't it.

Will politicians finally admit that the Paris attacks had something to do with Islam?

Ha! No, no they won't it seems.

    I was thinking the same.

I would think that they absolutely wouldn't want to profit from it, if it did happen, so at least maybe the money raised could go towards the survivors' recovery. So some good might come of it.

But I don't know ... the band and everyone involved with the band must be feeling very traumatised and probably feeling a lot of guilt (however unjustified/irrational), I can't imagine they'd want to be subject of a high-profile campaign like that right now.
yeah i'd say it's not even the money, it would be awkward attention for them.

That type of thing would never happen in the 'civilised' West where we must change everything to suit the immigrant in case we offend them with our culture.

I do, France is equipped with Nuclear weapons, they should launch a tactical Nuclear strike on Raqqah and wipe Islamic State off the map, one Nuclear missile would turn the whole city to glass and disembowel Islamic State in one clean sweep, leaving it leaderless and unable to function, it would also lay down a powerful warning to other Islamic terrorists and Terrorist friendly countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Indonesia what they too could expect if they decide to go to war with the West.

Oh ya that's going to help. Lets launch a nuke!! Were you drunk writing that post?

They should just let off a non-nuclear electromagnetic pulse (EMP) bomb every week or so over the IS centres of influence

Interesting article. Maybe some of our leaders in the west should have a gander at it too.

Hello newly registered person who has decided to launch straight into insult mode.

    How are you today?

Have you read the whole thread?

    I'm guessing not.

Judging a huge group of people from the actions of a few? Never!
So why do we not see these constant barbaric incidents from Christian groups or Buddhists? Its always Muslims, every time something happens on the TV like this, who can straight away think "Oh it must be the Buddhists again".

No one thinks that because we all know it is Muslims who are causing absolute carnage around the world and the liberal media and its followers don't want to come to terms with that because you might get labelled a racist because a huge amount of thick people think Islam is a race.

Maybe one day we will think about protecting the citizens who live here and in the Western countries and not the feelings of Muslims. I personally don't give a ****e about anyone's feelings on this.

I don't want to go to the cinema or a concert and get blown away by absolutely raving Muslim lunatics with AK47s and Semtex explosives and then the aftermath people talking about it not being all Muslims or it isn't a problem with Islam when it f*cking clearly is.

In the Unites States they have massacres by "Christians" every other week it seems, its just that for some reason it's never called terrorism.

    Deary me...

Political lunatics v lunatics. America does NOT have an army of them who follow a religion based on Jihad.

False, they arent doing it whilst screaming "jesus is great", "god is grea"t or some variation thereof. When you take out criminals, black on black crime, social and economic problems, massive drug use, and laws that restrict guns from being used by dangerous people not being enforced etc etc the shooting rate is not that bad in the US. The US is a massive country with lots of problems(and good points too), christian terrorism however, is not one of them.

Not a bad idea but I'd wager that they've looted a truck load of EMP shielded equipment in the last while

So why do we not see these constant barbaric incidents from Christian groups...

'Christians' do it with helicopters, drones, coups, dictator stooges, cruise missiles, invasions based on lies etc etc. Hundreds of thousands of dead Muslims since the start of disastrous 'War on Terror'.

Assad did not destroy Syria he preserved it from western aggression. It is the wests so called allies that are arming the terrorists.

Terrorism is politically motivated violence. A different concept to what I assume you are referring to.
