I can't honestly say I've ever found anything in there I liked. I keep trying on occasion, but I always walk out feeling I wasted my time and really need a wash now.

These days, I mostly shop online, I couldn't think of any highstreet shop selling clothes I like right now. I'm not keen on the fabrics that are in fashion at the moment, nor on the colours, and least of all the cuts.

I know what you mean about leaving TK's with nothing. What kind of places do you buy online? I haven't don't it in ages because I got sick of paying to send stuff back if it was ill fitted.

Until recently, I bought a lot of ebay from the US. Much much more choice, and while the exchange rate was good it turned out actually cheaper than buying from the UK. It's a little more expensive now, but there are still some good bargains to be had. I usually make sure I get the measurements of what I'm looking at before bidding/buying, so there aren't a lot of things that wouldn't fit when they arrive. It still happens occasionally, but my personal rule is that I don't buy anything for more than €25, so whatever doesn't fit goes to charity.

There are a few deal websites out there, zulily.co.uk is quite good for example.

This may have been mentioned before, but there was either a BBC or Channel 4 programme recently that found that the bulk of their merchandise is actually own brand. They have trademarked loads of labels with european sounding names to make it look like they are from independent designers. But they all might as well be labelled "St Bernard", if the quality is anything to go by.

Where do you guys do your clothes shopping then??

    Ebay.

Seriously. Must have bought a dozen or more items this month alone, all brand new and at around 25% of what I'd pay here. Particularly boots, jeans and jackets. Shirts are about the only item I don't buy on Ebay as sizing can never be taken on trust.

As for TK Maxx: I used to like the place. Bought a few pairs of boots for €30 or so bucks but now any boots I see that I'd wear are all around €70 or €80. Same with their bedding. Used to buy high thread count cotton sheets and duvet covers for next to nothing but now they are a similar price to M&S, Debhenhams etc.

Jesus what happened to my life that I'm on the Internet on a Saturday night talking about bed linen.

If you have a load of money to spend, I suppose it's fine. I just find their stock very expensive, discount or no discount.

TK Maxx is cheap, it's budget shopping. Compared to your average high street shop it's very cheap.

If you like spending money on clothes you don't shop in TK Maxx.

Well that really depends on your budget I guess. Personally speaking, I wouldn't find a €55 pair of jeans or a €60 handbag good value, no matter what the 'original' price was.

Wouldnt call them cheap, a few items here and there may be heavily discounted, but its rare youll find them. Bought some running runners in there a while back, better price than brand new ones but still expensive for what they were.
