If a lounge is not listed, there is no lounge. The list many years ago was much longer but the list is now focused on business heavy locations. If the website shows 'AerSpace' seating its a good indication there is a lounge available at both ends.

CDG is the biggest one missing currently, redevelopment of T1 CDG closed the Salon Iclare lounge and EI hasn't signed a deal with the new lounge operator in T1 CDG

Looking forward to seeing the new Aspire in AMS. The ond one was brutal.

    Still cant beat Privium.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,094 ✭✭✭Yggr of Asgard

Rumor has the new Aspire is not going to be ready until January next year and the replacement Frames Café is a joke. There is typical a waitlist if you are not in business class or AerSpace for AerLingus. Plus, it's hot and crowded. There is also Cafe Flor nearer to the D departure gates where you can try your luck which is slightly better. But they usualy point your to Frames, but you can always try.

Privium is the choice for Amsterdam if you travel a few times a year through it, the fast track, the excellent lounge well worth the 245€.

    And enrollment is back up.

I had the basic since 2019 but last year i upgraded and its well worth it. The lounge in Schengan area isnt great but the one before security and after by holland cafe are top class.

Can anyone tell me how many tier credits one gets for a return cork//dublin to amsterdam on Aer Space is?

Frames is absolutely crap. Could only locate one plug socket in the whole ‘lounge’, food was absolutely terrible too.

Is it just me, it has it become a lot more difficult to earn 15 tier credits on Saver fare this year? Every flight I have taken seems to only earn 7.5 credits.

The best money i ever invested in was Privium.

If I use my avios to pay for an Aer Lingus flight do I still get tier credits?

If Silver and flying with another carrier (e.g. Emirates) am I right saying no benefits apply at all?

Credits and Avios I know are a no, but can you still use Fasttrack or Dublin Lounge if not on Aer Lingus plane/ticket?

For the fourth time, I have had my request for using my return fares on Aer Credit card rejected. Travelling at the start of November, notorious for being the busiest time of the year...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,434 ✭✭✭Noxegon

Yes, AerClub benefits only apply when you're taking an Aer Lingus flight.

    Not 100% true, you typically need to be flying on a Aer Lingus operated service on a Aer Lingus issued ticket to avail but;

Lounge access at BA lounges at LHR apply at Platinum/Concierge level on tickets via LHR which involve both a BA and EI flight on the same ticket.

Benefits of course apply to any flight operating under franchise or charter agreement for EI (Emerald today, Stobart and Cityjet in the past)

if only they would upgrade the actual Aerlingus lounges too! I feel like they haven’t really recovered since Covid. Specifically the food and drinks offering which is non existent beyond a few snacks, but it’s mad how lax they are on cleaning too.

Are you sure, any chance you misread the question and your reply is related to a reward flight and tiers (which you don’t get)?

@op my answer to your question based on experience is that yes you get tier points for a flight which you have paid for using your avios points, I have done so many times. Hope you didn’t do something based on @Noxegon misleading advice

  • Registered Users Posts: 741 ✭✭✭Board Walker

Only EI lounge ive actually been in was the one in LHR. lovely lounge but you can drink what ever you want but only eat cheese and crackers!

I am Concierge, is it possibly to request an upgrade on an EI operated TATL flight where the (economy) ticket wasn’t bought through AerLingus?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,018 ✭✭✭goingnowhere

If plated as a 053 Aer Lingus ticket then yes.

Is there any way to see available Avios reward flight availability or do I have to search Departure & Arrival combinations ad nauseam on avios.com and hope it gets a hit?

Its been over month now and still not showing up on transactions on Aer club app

Fortnight or so after the statement date. It may never show on the app but will on avios.com; and even there I suspect the date it turns up and the date it shows as valid are not the same thing.

My September statement has yet to post on avios.com, August posted September 7th, July posted August 8th and so on. I expect it'll appear within a day or two and have a date of the 6th or the 9th.

Same interval for getting the extra base points for EI purchases, that includes buy on board stuff.

Checking those dates has lead me to realise I've got a reasonable enough volume of Avios built up now - just under 74k and I have a biz class trip on another IAG airline to transfer points over from in a few weeks too. And I've no idea what to spend them on!

Just used a bunch of Avios to upgrade to business on the way back from ORD to DUB next week, assume I get the tier credits for the economy ticket I paid for? The website says I get the avios for economy but doesn't mention tier points. It also says there's a revival lounge in Dub - where's that and assume I can use it with such an upgrade?? I've oddly only flown EI business out of Dublin, not inbound.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,434 ✭✭✭Noxegon

It's in baggage reclaim - on the right hand wall as you enter from the passport control side. You will be able to use it with a Business Class boarding pass.

Usually within 3 working days but this month still no sign and my statement date is 4th of month so slightly overdue now. Give it a few more days as presume must have IT issues.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,242 ✭✭✭✭cson

Avios upgrades earn Avios/Tier Credits at the original fare level.

Revival lounge has a shower and a decent coffee machine, its very small though.

EI lounge in ORD is absolute garbage so I would try to spend the minimum amount of time there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,181 ✭✭✭BigMoose

I used to fly EI to ORD regularly back in the Gold Circle days but think T5 has been redone since then. I looked up the lounge and pretty much every comment is that it’s crap, which is a shame as i dont remember the one being particularly bad back then. Although my strategy for the lounge when flying economy is to drink as much wine as it takes me to fall asleep when I get on the plane, so dont have high expectations.

I flew LHR-DUB the other day.

On the plus side I got to the airport early and Aer Lingus moved me to an earlier flight with no issue. Full marks!

On the negative, the flight was delayed by about an hour but this can happen.

A big issue was when landing in Dublin, even though there were plenty of free gates at T2 (late afternoon with all the transatlantic flights gone) they parked at the furthest remote spot. We then had to get a bus which did the usual tour of the airport. I imagine many people had paid for front of plane seats which were of no benefit.

I checked when I got home and the plane was parking there for the night. I think they should have parked at an available gate with an airbridge and then towed the plane later. They created inconvenience for passengers on a business heavy route to avoid a towing exercise. I thought it was poor form.

Does anyone know how to view the avios account? On the 'my account' section of Aer Lingus website I can see how many avios points I've earned, but I've no idea how to view this on avios.com
