Well that was just awful. That's really worrying, the mentality of the side is going to be scrutinised now. Still can't believe what I just saw there. All the good work against City completely undone by that.

    This season is INSANE.

Southampton had 1 point from 5 games previous to this and they've just pounded us. That's worse then the away 5-1 pool and 6 nil Chelsea results a few seasons back.

Shameful stuff and just brings up the same old questions of previous seasons. But that's just knee jerk I suppose......

Utterly brutal, some awful ref decisions but we were shocking. We can't expect a title challenge playing like that.

We lost 4-0 to a team that are doing very very little this year, I think they've only won 1 in 5. Go ahead. Justify it. Always with the "knee jerk" thing. Justify it.

They played very well tonight and we didn't. Form is pretty much irrelevant.

It doesn't really make much difference if it's 2-0 or 5-0. Knees will jerk though.

This thread is going to be embarrassing. We'd a terrible performance, we'll see another before the season is out at a minimum, all that matters is that we've enough good ones to get to where we want to go, which is the title.

You could be right but not as embarrassing as that display.

I'm fuming but it's just 3 points and we'll be top come Monday

City are as likely to put in a performance like that as we are

We'll be top Jan 1st and Sanchez will be back plus a signing or two

gunna prepare a nice meal now, the leftover from yesterday , watch that san andreas movie and later put on fifa the football game, pick arsenal vs southamption, put in on the easiest difficulty and smash them in the game .

Anyone saying we've lost the title are morons. We've done brilliant up to this game considering our injuries.

We've got some easier games coming up so let's roll on.

he wasn't the worst, but he has played a lot of football recetlly. I think I'd leave Bellerin in but replace Mert with Gabriel.

I guess but deep down we all know there'll be more games like tonight. Hopefully the other contenders keep fcuking up more than us.

Seems like we're signing Elneny who plays DM. He's supposed to be very good.

Come on. Someone justify it. What's it this time, injuries?...what.

This is what happens in football. You don't win all the time. Sometimes the team doesn't click.

They've taken 12 points from a possible 15, with a lot of injuries. Unfortunately you notice these injuries more when you are chasing a game and have nobody decent to come on to the pitch and lift the team.

    We haven't lost the title.

I thought that was going to be a lot easier than the City game. There are no easy games.

Is it just more of that rubbish Paper Talk?

Pretty sure someone said we wouldn't win it because of games like this.

I would like to believe that but I could see another one or two results like this going agaisn't us cause it always happens every season. Games we are expected to win we go in with cocksure attitude and we don't bother turning up pumped.

Bournemouth are on some top form, they beaten Chelsea at their place something we didn't do. That's not going to be a easy game. Even Newcastle could cause us problems.

Plus he needs to rest some of those players looking at our bench that worries me.

At least Leciester and Utd lost today, but that result tonight was one of the worst performances I've seen from a Arsenal side in a good while.

on paper maybe, but not on the pitch. Southampton put in some shift tonight, completely belying their form.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,752 ✭✭✭Mr Blobby

    This was an easy game!

Southampton has never been a easy game for us. They beat us twice last year if I recall correctly.

Jeremy Wilson and few other journos have reported it. Fee supposedly around €8M.
