I'm surprised you have to ask.

Silly question from a novice. How do you paint the engine/parts/body around the engine?

I'd love to get into doing this with a tractor but don't know where to start learning.

its all a learning curve marty , best way is to start on something simple with not too much stripping involved , take as much " loose " bits off that you can as this will save you a lot masking up before hand , try to take your time to get into all the nooks and cranny's as this will pay off when you are re-assembling the tractor , nothing worse than coming across bits that you have missed days after you are finished painting , and most of all enjoy what you are doing , none of us are experts but sure its good craic !!!!
