There is a newish superb l&k parked near my place and it's a lovely looking car inside.
Re the l&k edition, are they generally a trim that has all the spec included? Or is it simply a name for the version?

Yeah, it was originally a special edition celebrating the 2 founders of what became Skoda. Far as I know the first one came out in 1995 to celebrate 100 years since the two lads started making bikes.

Here is the Felicia Laurin & Klement
    IMG_0018.jpg
Keep in mind the Felicia was pure basic usually. This level of spec was obscene on a budget Eastern European (VW association aside) car at the time.

    Anyway, back to bangers :D

That Octavia looks like a brilliant find. Nice to see something that seems minded.

I'd buy that skoda only my insurance would sky rocket. I'm looking for a new banger but finding it difficult to find something small and 'cool'

That Octavia ticks every banger box. Nice colour combo. Great fuel economy. Every extra. Looks really well minded. Pity I'm not looking for a banger at the moment.

Unless anyone wants to buy my 2005 1.6 avensis ? (Only 68k miles .. absolutely mint! )

It's a 190 model not 163 as advertised (unless it got a new engine)

Avensis D-4D Luna with ultra expensive Toyota Motorsport grille and tacky genuine rear spoiler, along with Toyota motorsport front splitter and side skirts in Brocade Red, along with the chrome boot trim (which incidentally is the same part for an 05> Yaris). It's a gorgeous colour when its polished. The kit would have been around €2.5k extra at the time IIRC.
Suspect it may have been a taxi :)

    It's not really worth 2k I suppose

That's the dcat engine so 177 bhp.
    Quite a sleeper tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,327 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Only 150bhp on the Irish model.

It is a taxi. Still on taxi tax. Also on CVRT (commercial NCT) which is already expired or expires in the next week or two

A grand to tax. For a bangernomics Toyota. Diesel. Loads of owners. With almost half a million km on it. €1,750? LOL!

Could you possibly have posted anything more meh? :p

I have a feeling this is a genuine old bus.
Short on test but a realistic asking price.
If it checks out its a decent old boat for 12 months.

If I needed something ultra reliable, I'd buy this instead of that taxi Avensis:

    '07 Honda Accord, 73k miles, asking €1,600

Tidy, Irish car, only 2 owners from new. NCT 07/17

    ZGQ3ODU3MDMyMjMwMGI3NDkwZDEzOWViZGI5NjMxMzkD45JH_1LvZ6g3Sew7TDHaaHR0cDovL3MzLWV1LXdlc3QtMS5hbWF6b25hd3MuY29tL2RvbmVkZWFsLmllLXBob3Rvcy9waG90b182Nzc5MzA1MXx8fDYwMHg2MDB8fHx8fHx8fA==.jpeg

    Linky

€1,400 cash would probably take it...

We had a few '08 ones of those a year ago or more. With a straight 6 petrol engine and €710 tax, that wouldn't have been a bad bangernomics choice back then. Now, they make no sense at all with the €1,200 tax. Dunno if they are approved as taxis?

My guess is the seller is sneakily hoping a potential buyer won't know about the tax and assumes it's chape tax because of the year...

Beetle is almost out of NCT, Colm. Good find if you'd get the owner to put it through the test. Agreed with the 1.4 engine. That dud 2l that was in most of them was totally unsuited for the target group.

Says he'll test it if he gets the asking price.
    Fierce low mileage claim.
    Be alright for a grand.
