Seeing it on the news now....poor people, going on pilgrimage and this happens to them.
There will be plenty of families waiting for news of their relations for the next few hours.

Not cool man, people have lost their lives performing a pious pilgrimage based on their belief system.

You do yourself a disservice mocking a tragic act such as this, regardless of your opinions on Islam.

How is an accident at a mosque on the same date as planes crashing into buildings in America a coincidence?

Regardless of what you think of the Muslim religion this is an absolute tragedy. RIP to those lost.

because most of the 19 were saudis
    Bin Laden was saudi
A huge amount of Islamic charity money that went to Al Qaeda was saudi cash.
Muslims....here , muslims there and muslims on 9/11...muslims.

Not necessarily conspiracy theorist simply to comment that it's a coincidence - it is.

Not sure what could be ambiguous about reporting on a thing that actually happened.

Well plenty of people seem to think the various gods will take time out to help them in there own personal situations (need to win boxing/football matches etc) so keeping an eye on a crane hovering over a large group of your followers there for no other reason that to say how great you are in a place built specifically for the purpose shouldnt be a lot to ask for.

It'd almost make you question your faith......

If nothing was happening to any muslims on any other days of the year then maybe.

Human life has been lost in a tragedy, what difference does their religious affiliation make?

Not everyone has the same values as you.
A devout muslim might place a lower priority on boxing/football matches, long life and material considerations than what you yourself might.

Cheap shot and no comparison. That's like branding all Catholics for IRA murders. This was a tragic accident.

Personally speaking its any religious affiliation , not specifically muslim. If all these gods are so great, why do they let their most devout followers die in all the various goings on around the world? Surely they should be taking out us non believers ? Which takes me back to the possibility they dont exist.......

And so, this is not a tragic loss of life due to an accident? They had a faith, any faith, so tough? Is that it?

Yes, thats clearly what I said. It's right there in the words sure.

That or my posts were about questioning the reasons for people faith and their unwavering support of it. If you believe your god cares about you personally enough to pray directly to him and ask him for help with things and he then allows people of similar levels of faith to not only die but die during the very act of showing him how much you care for him (this applies to any religion, ie the people killed in the church in america) , do you not think thats a reasonable sign of how futile the whole religion thing is and that you're better off spening your time looking after yourself that hoping a spirit in the sky will do it?

One ban and two cards in just 3 pages. The topic isn't moderation, the topic is Crane crashes in Mecca's Grand Mosque. If you have an issue with a mod warning, card, ban, whatever else, PM the mod or take it to feedback.

But, this is nothing to do with religion. Is the death of 87 people not tragic regardless of whether they were religious or not?

Fair enough. Point taken but you still can't equate every Muslim with ISIS either.

ISIS lives lost = human (muslim) lives lost. Who gives a bollix? Nobody.

Yes, it's a bit off-topic, but that's pretty much the whole point of After Hours. You want serious discussion of current events? We have Politics and Humanities forums for that.

Is tourism really the right word, like AFAIK if your devout and have the means your meant to take the Hajj at least once in your life (something that historically helped bind the muslim world together back when us Europeans were squabbling with the next Baron over).
    Anyway RIP

Who can only be Muslim, given non Muslims are banned from entering Mecca.

If it wasn't so serious and not in Saudi Arabia, one would have the image of Miley Cyrus on her wrecking ball, given the damage done to the mosque.

Fact is 9/11 was perpetrated by Islamic extremists and on the anniversary of 9/11 a crane falls not only in the home country of 15 of the 19 hijackers, but in the home of the most extreme form of Islam, Wahhabism and at Islams most holy site. So much irony.
