A few names there that are unfamiliar to me and who didn't seem to figure at minor level but maybe I just don't remember them. Solan certainly spreads the net wide and last year Boland appeared from nowhere to become a key part of the team that won the AI.

Liam Irwin has been dropped from the Mayo senior squad.Seamus O Shea is expected to play for his club Breaffy in the Michael Walsh League on Sunday morning.

The Mayo team to face Tyrone in the penultimate round of the Football League in Healy Park on Sunday shows two changes from last weekend's defeat to Cavan in Castlebar.

Chris Barrett comes in for his first start of the year in defence with Evan Regan also starting,Donal Vaughan and Conor Loftus are the players making way.

Shame about the Bear being dropped. He has the potential to be very good but needs work on his fitness. Staying within the discipline and regime of a squad would have done him the world of good this year and then give him a proper lash next year in the league.

Not that surprised he was dropped tbh. I don't think he's ready to settle down and commit.

I'm not sure what Rochford sees in Keith as a fb. He's far too loose a marker.

Not a good sign that he's being dropped when Mayo are in need of some new forwards. Seems strange that an individual player is dropped at this point. Normally, a group of players would be dropped at defined stages. For example, a panel of 50 at start of FBD reduced to 40 at end of FBD, reduced to 35 halfway through league, reduced to 30 at end of league or something along those lines. Hard to understand a player being dropped with 2 league games to play.

Beautiful day.No excuses for not heading to Tuam.

There will be a lot of talent on display in the what hopefully will be a cracking under 21 clash.Shall be watching out for Peter Cooke,Michael Daly and Robert Finnerty amongst the enemy ranks.:)

Nothing like a clash with the Tribesmen for the Green and Red.

Definitely think it's nothing more than a stop gap measure,we're in dire need of an up and coming quality full back with our options severely limited by the absence of the best of what we have available.. Ger Caff and Kevin Keane.

Keith Higgins has never traditionally been a tight man marker,he invariably relied on pace to counter same.Unfortunately he was lost a yard of pace so to say,hopefully in due course it'll be possible to return him to the corner.

Any suggestions for a good spot to park for a quick getaway,historically it is a nightmare of a ground for parking!

Will be difficult because the minors are on at 3 so all the handy spots down that end of the town will be gone if you are only thinking of getting there for five for the under 21 game. If it was me I would try parking at the presentation secondary school. It's just a brisk 10 minute walk down main street and down to the pitch. When your leaving afterwards then out the dunmore road, take a left and down Bobby Burke road to the n17. No lights and no delays.

Hmmm in comparison to Pearse stadium, Tuam is a fantastic place to find parking. Count yourself lucky that it wasn't fixed for Pearse and have to drive through Galway city's on a Saturday afternoon!

Far superior team,they should have been out of sight at half time.We struggled for scores from play and our goal camouflaged the chasm in scoring quality.

First Galway goal was a turning point after a good revival at the start of the second half by our lads.Crucial broken ball by Ciaran Molloy led to the dagger in the heart that was the second goal.Peter Cooke was superb,well deserved MOTM bossing the middle with an impressive accomplice.He is so impressive in the dying art that is long distance place kicking off the ground.Michael Daly was key to win,Robert Finnerty faded after causing many issues for the Mayo defence.Many of us were aghast that the excellent Ciaran Molloy is still under 21,he seems to have been around forever.This Galway team will certainly compete for an All Ireland title.

Interesting to hear that Cooke played well. He's faded off the senior panel in recent weeks. I haven't seen this Galway team play but I'd know some of the players from minor and club - there is quality there.

If you think Cooke is good at long distance place kicking, you should Barry McHugh who is currently in Galway senior team. Quality free taker but it's still debatable he'll make it come championship. It is great to see players with technique taking long distance free though, rather than the hit and hope shots you see from goalkeepers.

Fair play to all who travelled to Omagh today. Couldn't make it myself so the novelty of watching the game live on the box awaits. Reaction and big one at that badly needed. Result is still tough ask but if history tells us anything about this Mayo team ya never know.
