Well, at least that will put the right attitude to G. Hook in people's minds...

Just do a hard reset and it when its going through setup again make sure its out in the open so it has a clear path to the gps satellites. I usually leave mine on the window sill at this stage.

Looks like it got the elevation difference right but started off from the wrong elevation point.

Funnily enough, when I hear either speak, I often wonder: double the medication, or halve it?

Ok, there is something very wrong with my Edge 520. As above, yesterday morning it told me I did 2,227m on my commute in. On the way home it said I did 2,200m. This morning it claims I did 2,185m. The reality is in fact about 35m.

Why has it suddenly gone bat-sh1t crazy? Has the sea-level shifted in the last 48 hours and I didn't notice? I upgraded the software last week but the first couple of days were ok, it's only since yesterday. Any ideas oh wise ones?

Can you post a pic of it on your bike? From the side preferably.

Just took out a racing license yesterday for the first time but I'm kind of after realising tonight I'm 39 and am I just kidding myself?

How old is too old to race I guess?

He rode the Ras, when he was 53.
He is in his 70s now, and as far as I know, he's still going strong

Still dishing out the hurt in the Vets. My current life goal is to beat him in a sprint. I'm 47.

is that one of the guys from the phenomenal photo a few years ago where someone aged 70 was celebrating a win in a senior race was pipped to the line by his older brother?

Not quite. Sean was pipped to the line by his son, who was an M40 at the time

The Lal was winning races in the 60's 70's 80's 90's 00's 10's and holds many Irish age records.
He was an international for years racing among the greats and won stages of the ras and and many national medals.
He is a legend in Irish cycling and going strong still at 75.
Hammered me as junior when he was a vet, then hammered he as a senior and now well into my vet "career" he still hammers me.
Worst thing is he's a nice guy too ;)

hmm; i'd posted this to another forum (lifted from here i think)
"at the veteran age CP in the curragh yesterday morning - 73 year old sean lally coming to the line celebrating his win, with arms aloft:

only to be pipped by 70 year old jimmy lally at the line:"
    (image missing)
that was posted in late july 2013

I was on the line when it happened - caused no end of amusement to everyone who witnessed it as well as the two guys themselves.

Based on meetings in the real world, you are below the average of racers who post here.

I thought for a second or two you meant "below the average ability". Seemed a bit blunt!
