I can get one for £129 from UK which is nearly €180 which seems a bit expensive considering the price in the U.S.

Sounds about right to me, a weak €uro is the usual suspect.

    Currently, £129 = €182 = $200.

    Timney trigger #510:
    US cost = $135.
    20% for the taxman + $27
    Shipping to Irl= $35
    Total = $197 = €180

If you think the price on the Timney is steep, just ask around for a Jewell! They don't even have a webPage and are as rare as hen's teeth, even in the States!

Been looking for a HVR with no options and cannot even get from the Jewell factory. At least Timney's are always in supply.

I've seen two RFDs that had them in stock, however, one i have not been to in some months and the other seems to be winding down in terms of amount of accessories they carry. They are Jim McBride in Athlone and Sean Harding in Thurles. Worth a call to both to check.

A definite alternative if Timney is hard to get is the Rifle basix. I have one in the Remmy 5r i have. I went for the LV-Ik one with K-Kit (you'll need this if your rifle has the X Mark trigger installed (which can be found out on Remingtons website or used be able to). There are many variants for Remmy, but the LV one comes from the factory set at 10-12 ounces (shy of a pound) and only goes up to 1.5 lb break. Price is pretty much the same as the Timney.

    Hi kev

It's for your old 700 tac. I have an anschutz rimfire and just can't get used to the trigger on the remmy
It will be used for hunting only so might just see if Jim mc bride has one for around same money

Remmy have a habit of using or setting their triggers to "lawyer friendly" settings. try to drop it below 3lb and it'll slam fire each time the bolt is cycled. It's the reason why so many aftermarket triggers are available (and the huge popularity of the Remington brand of course)

I had the same issue with the 5r. At times you'd swear the safety was on. When i changed it to the rifle basix i couldn't believe the difference. Definitely worth the change.

I purchased a 700 SPS a few years back and over time upgraded a few bits: Boyd's stock, NF rail, and a Timney #510.

If you have a bit of patience, the newer 700 triggers can be tuned to be just as good, if not better, than most Timney and aftermarkets that break in the pounds.

I was so impressed with the factory trigger that I decided not to use the Timney.

    :O

How much does this thing actually weigh?

Or is it being escorted by a troop of Varengian Guards with diamond-studded halberds, riding unicorns?

That is nothing short of outrageous. :(

Brownells, Sinclair (baically Brownells again), Optics planet, etc all charge between $45 - $61 minimum shipping regardless of weight. You go over the 15kr mark and watch that number sky rocket.

I was only recently looking for a rail for my rifle. The part cost $19. Shipping was $61. Feck that.

Ah, from US..... I see. I misunderstooded, thinking that that was the shipping from UK.

I get reloading dies from Canada for $12.75 shipping, BTW. That's around £6.50. They sure as heck weigh a lot more than a trigger unit.
