Oh right, My mini did that too... id imagine its pretty standard. Thought he meant the button was to start and take the keys out to stop. S2000's do that don't they? Start button is pointless in them since you've to turn the keys in the ignition anyway.
Pushing a big red button is never pointless.

Getting that irresistible urge to do another European road trip this summer... French/Swiss/Italian roads and a lovely six cylinder petrol do for a nice time make.

Alfas tend to be very reliable on the continent also...!

Exactly. Same as having a rev counter. Or popup lights and gullwing doors.
Cars that have the above are automatically better than cars that don't.

Collected the mondeo there, full service, new fanbelt (old one was screeching a tad and a bit ravaged), and new front brake pads. Got a wash too. It's a happy car tonight.

So NCT done and all passed with no issue (including the tyre I was worried about).. EXCEPT for one - the front left headlight, which apparently needs realignment (and here I thought such things were behind me with auto-leveling xenon lights)

So I'll have to get it retested for another €28 :( Any suggestions on where to bring it (D18 area preferred or surrounding areas) that won't charge me a fortune to adjust it?

Just witnessed a drive off at the local filling station, fella decides to get a fill of diesel. Into the car and tears off away.

Thats it really. Ruins things for the rest of us that sort of sh*te

Happens a lot more than you think! Usually taken care of the next day!

It's funny when you are at home figuring how to make an undertray for your car :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,719 ✭✭✭Hal1

To protect the sump or a whole undertray covering like on a vw (maybe some bm's have them too).

I was in getting fuel today had less than a 1/4 of a tank and brimmed it for 50 quid I though it was great how cheap it's gone I genuinely never thought I'd see diesel for 109.9 in Ireland in my lifetime. I didn't think drive offs happened that often anymore seems they do it's sad really.

It's more the track version I'm thinking of, it's supposed to stop lift by smoothing the flow of air but I really just want it for the look :D

Surely there's an eibach or whiteline jobby that does the same job, or you looking to fab it up yourself?

The cheapest I've seen today was an Emo garage in Inchicore that's notorious for under pricing but he gets all the punters. Every time I pass it there's a que out the forecourt. Anyway today his price for diesel was €1.05.99 and petrol was €1.22.99. Cheap as chips bai.

It wont be the same size as a standard one, much larger.
I will fab it myself and if it goes wrong there are fabricated ones out there for €250

Petrol beside my work is 1.389 the robbers. And they are always busy as the shop is good. Beside the house it's 1.245 so not too bad.

Ask anybody involved in Rallying or Motorsport they will make you one. I had a guy do one up for the Ford Ka I had. Sheet of aluminium from the front past the gearbox.

I know 2 or 3 guys but I really want to crack into it myself :)
I want this to be a self build as much as possible!

Honestly thought with that amount of weasel left in the tank you brimmed it with agri for that price.... Must be a tiny tank!

Well average enough size tank 55 litres afaik it took 45 ish litres to fill it hence the 50 quid price. So it mustn't have been much below 1/4 of a tank hard to judge with a digital gauge. I definitely wouldn't touch agri anyway.

Anyone see that ad about building a model old school mustang? You get a magazine and a part each week. The first issue costs 2.50. Think you get a bit of a chrome strip for the bumper. Seems to be a small enough model.

Just read the small print though. Every issue after the first costs 10.90. The model will be complete after 100 issues. So essentially this model will cost you well over 1000 euro

What do people think of these new transits. Disregarding the damage, this seems to be fairly nice. Not gone on the extra high roof though. They are too high off the ground or something, can't put my finger on it. At least there seems to be more structure to the seating compared to it's predecessor.
