I presume you can get these deals if you sign up for the free Prime trial? Might be worth signing up for the trial as long as I remember to cancel before the month is up

Yes it does apply to trial membership also, you can cancel immediately and still keep your month's trial period.

Remember to check your banking to make sure prine didnt deduct your acc even if you didnt sign up which happened to me and many others. You can get them to reverse it as long as you havent used the product in the mean time.

For most sellers yes. For some you have to use Parcel Motel.

If its Amazon selling it themselves, then yes.

Would be worth adding amazon.es to the list also, they seem to be cheaper for a lot of items from what I can see. Probably due to the poor economy!

There's a 240GB SSD going on sale at 6am and another 250GB SSD going on sale at 7pm.. Dunno which to go for.

This one is going on sale at 6am.

    This one at 7pm.

I'm not an expert when it comes to SSD specs if that is what you are looking for, but I can say I've had a Crucial 250GB drive for about a year now and it works well as my main SSD with my OS's installed. I bought a second refurbed one around black friday from Crucial's site and that is working fine as well.

Have a look at the Photo Reviews on the right hand side of the page.

The Crucial seems to have benchmarked very poorly.

Compare it with the photo reviews here for the Sandisk on amazon dot com

    http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Internal-240GB-2-5-Inch-SDSSDA-240G-G25/dp/B00S9Q9VS4

I`m going to have my eyes peeled on the Sandisk!

I haven't been following the PC building scene lately, but I know at one point Crucial were considered the best SSDs to get. Not sure if that's the case anymore. I've had my 64gb Crucial SSD for I'd say 4 years now and it's still going strong.

Aye, I think I'll go with the San Disk too. Pity the 250 Samsung one isn't on sale and only the 1tb!

Just an update on the BX100, the benchmark on amazon dot com seems upto scratch:

    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RQA6TEI/ref=psdc_1292116011_t1_B00S9Q9VS4

Maybe those UK reviewers were using it on Sata 3Gbs motherboards, or were using dodgy cables.

    .

The funny part is it was not even on the sale items.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,799 ✭✭✭MiskyBoyy

They should have a sale on the prime itself.

Bring it down from £79 for an hour even!

Any chance of sharing the shopping list? :D

Its ridiculously expensive in the UK for some reason.

Im pretty sure on amazon.es its only 29euro per year.

Just found out both my laptop and desktop are only SATA 3Gbps so im not going to bother with the SSDs.

Saves me getting up early in the morning! :p

Use ParcelMotel, €3.95 and they give ya an address up the North that works fine with Amazon.

Does anyone know how much that San Disk SSD went for in the end? I fell asleep and missed it :(

Edit: Didn't miss it so. But it's 49.99. Not much of a saving!

Firetv stick for 29 euros or any android box at double the price ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 284 ✭✭loughrey

For anyone who has used up their trial and wants to avail of the Prime Day deals, all you need to do is sign up with a new email address and you'll get a chance to get a trial again. I've been getting 10 months of Prime doing this trick. Your postal address isn't flagged as that of another account, so it's a perfect loophole. Right now I'd never be able to justify Prime until they offer at least Super Saver at a lower minimum buy than 30 pounds or Prime at a reduced price for Irish customers as it's just Prime movies you getting (Netflix is better) and you lose Super Saver as a Prime customer, making it counterproductive. So use this loophole and get unlimited supplies of trials.

Ah... Its a pity they won't put the bigger box on offer. The extra horsepower would be handy but at £59 its a no go. Maybe they will offer it later on.

What's the prime deal in Germany on the one?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭Noxin

Was hoping for a decent deal on some PC upgrades but not much there bar an SSD. Shame :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,301 ✭✭✭✭gerrybbadd

I see Amazon Prime (Premium) on Amazon.es is only €19.95 per year. That's a serious difference in the £79 on the .co.uk site.

Would it be worth getting? No interest in the free deliveries side of things, more the streaming content and free Kindle books. (Would it be even possible to view the content?)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭bored_newbie

How does the streaming with Prime work? Using a VPN?
