Why are you in on Saturday night?

Tonight I had arranged with friends to head out to the local but I cancelled because I'm tired, couldn't be arsed walking the 15 mins to the pub in the rain and really don't want the terrible sleep and hangover tomorrow. I'm a 29 year old single guy, should be in the prime of my life, but here I am deliberately staying in on a Saturday night. I find myself seeking excuses to not go out more and more often. It's terrible, I'm literally getting old.

So why are you in tonight?!

It's cheaper to drink inside. And I have the interwebs and my online games. Well and my online mates I chat to on Teamspeak.

I'm in tonight because I have been quarantined from any alcohol of any kind after my session last week. I think I came very close to been erased from planet earth. I'm thinking of giving up alcohol and moving down to the country mountains and becoming a hermit.

That is commonly known as "the fear".
Normally subsides by Wednesday morning so it must have been a hell of a session.
Reason I'm in op is because I'm older than you and feeling the same way. Also had about five pints last night so that will tide me over.

That makes a lot of sense. Blue devils and 100% horrific nightmares for 4 straight days. Nasty stuff for sure. After that I'm back to normal, but that's some frightening feeling "The Fear". It's a good way of describing it.

I forgot to go home a few nights, woke up on couches after parties with X missed calls and Y missed texts from wife. Which was stupid of me, cos I was getting away with a 4am once a week...but 9am was serious doghouse stuff.

    So being good.

Because I did a 26 hour shift yesterday. Finished at 10am. Came home to my little one who was full of energy all day. She is now asleep and I have zero energy left to even get off the couch.

    So who's drinking?

I'm having a glass of red wine, tis delightful.

Also, why does red wine have to be room temperature, I love red wine chilled.

Couldn't decide what kind of out to do, so I just stayed in.

Na, no odds to me what way round you write it, you're still trying to tie me to a ritualistic belief that tomorrow morning is somehow different than the morning after. I'm not standing for it.

Well I'm on 8 weeks holidays so every night for the next 56 days can be my Saturday night :p.....

I prefer it at room temperature but you drink it any way you want to Cody! I'm also having a glass of red wine and watching a movie with my OH. Going out at the weekends is a massive effort these days and I'm only late 20s...

Chill away if you like it, anyway, room temperature these days is a lot warmer than the recommended temp for red wine, something like 14c - 18c compared to the plus 20 most houses are.

But does that mean you subscribe to the notion that one can indeed step into the same river twice?

Because that would seem to me to be a ludicrous proposition!

The wife is gone out. Dug out the old PS2 from the attic today, so the lads ( 9 and 11 yrs) are playing the old games and having a ball.

    Boys night in for me.

I work Wednesday 'till Sunday so I tend to get sh*tfaced on Monday and Tuesday. The other five days I sit in and only get a little drunk, unless of course its an occasion, you know like the week-end which can sometimes kick off on a Thursday....

I definitely don't drink on Wednesdays, that's for sure.

Where I live, it is less depressing to stay home than it is to go out. That's how bad it is.

Tuborg. I couldn't handle sitting here an hour ago slobbering all over myself dreaming of a beer, so I done the wrong thing and called a mate for a loan to get some deliciously chilled Tuborg beers.

Here we go again, have mercy on my soul. Ah sure, one night in heaven is better than a week in hell.

    Cheers mothafcukas.
