Supervalu regularly has a guy on duty! I've never seen him issue a ticket though.

Breaffy Woods Hotel to be converted into a 90 bed nursing home.

Not surprised. Nursing homes are an unbelievable money spinner. Some places charging people 1000 a week when they have no other option but to pay up.

A lot easier to bring in guaranteed revenue versus seasonal hotel stays..

Ya. This makes sense. There has been no investment in it as a hotel for a long time. Better concentrate on the offering in the main hotel.
Castlebar could do with more accommodation in the town centre though. Any big event leaves the place booked up and missing out on potential trade.

That hotel should never have been built. Close to €3m in Grants to build it afaik and the County Council had to foot the daily bill off emptying the septic tank.

That all came after them knocking down a very old wood almost overnight and only applying for planning to do so afterwards.

A real farce of a hotel by all accounts.

The parking signs in tesco pqy and display is 24/7. No 15 mins free and no 7pm finish. Clamping or towing away.

The staff at the door, where telling everyone the the first 15 mins is free.

Not sure you can just tow a car on private property but clamping is now regulated on public and private land.

I just parked in the dunnes one as it's free sunday.

Ideal. No getting off lightly.. the ole keep nailing them until they stop showing up and go do their shopping online while we continue to moan about footfall approach !

The parking warden on duty said not to bother with a ticket if I was going to be less than 15 mins on Saturday.

It's grand, get your ticket, scan the barcode at checkout and it takes the euro off the sale.

Do you not need to spend over 15 euro to get the refund?

There is something like that yeah, if you're in for the weekly shop or whatever it's grand though.

They could lose the customers that are just popping in for a few bits if that's the case.

Couldn't think of anything worse than popping in (while driving) to Tesco for a few bits.

They wont if they first 15mins are free.

If your spending 15 euro , your likely going to be longer than 15mins.

That doesn't seem to be documented anywhere thought, just word of mouth?

    So word of mouth? :D

I would just be cautious of that, if the parking fine dude happens to show up when you are in there for 5 minutes how can you prove to him you only parked up 5 minutes ago? Anyway it doesn't really matter I suppose.

Good ole Ireland. No clear guidelines indicated anywhere it seems.

As the Hardybucks said of the Lisbon Treaty "if ya want to know, ask around. Fill in the blanks yerselves".
